I have 4 ace pilots

I also have 3 reward pre-nerf engines.

I have looted what i think is one of the best looted and RE engines I have ever seen .

Y/P/R 75 78 75

Speed 120.1 Yea it rocks!

however in my oppressor its slightly too nimble.. making me over compensate when i manuver.

I have found that any engine with y/p/r with 65's is the best to have for "aerobatics".

I am waiting with anticapation now for the next patch! Being able to modify a ships y/p/r to my flying style will be fantastic.

A pve engine i might leave ya alone and boost pitch and roll to mid 60's.Where as a pvp ship i would boost the ya to high 60's.

I have been waiting for this change since JTLS release THANK YOU!

Now if we can only lower the damage when in PVP to allow a little more fun =) I hate current PVP two shot deaths ! I have been flying aircraft and flight sims for over 20 years. best pvp flight sim is still red baron atm. Sorry I love SciFi but SWG still comes up short on the fun meter for PVP. But there is still hope.

Opps off subject

Anyway I would hate to see Y/P/R linked instead can we get the results boosted per point. If you do get y/p/r/ in the 80's and try to use that ship in combat you will be fighting yourself as well as your oponent. Fighting two fronts is never a good idea! Most pilot prefer a tight flight control system.

A few places in this thread people have asked for Y/P/R to be linked. Personaly I hope this never happens ... rather ask for more points or higher base levels [which is coming next patch... thanks DP ].

"Why not link them?"

you shout.

Because I likehaving as many custom options as possible when crafting... Non-linked Y/P/R i can more effectively "tweek" an engine to fit a pilots flying style... Link them? Why go from the master "clockmakers" we are [ie hand crafting] to mass production "ford motors" ... that would seem a nerf to me.

My level 7 engines today have a YPR of about 53, mass of just under 13k and 103 top speed.

My engines before today were similar except max top speed was only 89-90 so they are better

Keep in mind, too, that you'll be able to eventually get two extra experimentation points with the right SEAs. I know its slow getting them right now, but they are starting to pop up. Once combat players get back into the swing of things and once all the bugged listings on the bazaar get worked through, I think we're going to start seeing Shipwrights with extra experimentation points popping up pretty soon.

Guys

After building a Mark 5 "STARFIGHTER" engine I got y= 60 p=65 r= 65 speed = 99. perfect! however

I finding that 33k to 31k mass eninge a little heavy even for master fighters. Since these are starfighter engines (not POB) shouldn't there weight be around 25k to start for fighters ? Just a thought.

Well starfighters are not designed to hold level 9 and 10 equipment.

The mass restrictions of those fighters even for looted components prevent that,

The POB ships are the only ones with the mass to hold those

LVL 9 engine with Overdriver

Pitch and Roll 65.8

Yaw 66.2

Speed 104.2

Now that's an engine!

I only used 4 ex points per YPR, and the last 3 on speed.

Lvl 5 Engine with OVerdriver

YPR 60.4

Speed 73.2

5 ex points per YPR

By the way, I didn't look on the lvl 9, but on the lvl 5, that 60.4 YPR is only a 61% result, so with the right resources we should be able to hit 70's.

that in itself is a bug, they pulled conductivity off the requirement for speed and did nothing for it in ypr, perhaps if they did that then you'd be correct but I am using some of the highest steel I have available to do the tests cond in the 650's and oq in the 980's.
