This thread needs to be locked. Market forces eventuallytake care of people that under/over sell their products.

No, this thread need to continue. I have been hearing this argument since JTL's release. I am a gouger. I probably charge three times as much as most people that are SW on my server. Well, I am not Exactly a gouger because I refer people to cheaper shipwrights if their quality is close to mine. The 10 cpu crowd burns out in four to six weeks when they figure out that all they are doing is crafting and have run out of things to buy. lol

That said, I have no problem with another shipwright charging on third or one fifth of my pricing. Quality resouces are the limiter. People want a 103.9 63 pyr engine at any cost and the resources to make that are a limited commodity. Yeah, you 10 CPU will sell well until you run out of resources or get carpal tunnel but my 30 cpu will also sell and the resource will last alot longer. In the end I win. I guess. I get three times the revenue and do not have to kill myself trying to keep up with demand.

I have been playing this game since it was released. I have, litterally, spent years gathering resources and seeing friends come and go. There was this blue Twilek but I digress.. lol I play this game for fun. I have no desire to make anymore money. I have customers that I care about. They are in guilds and have friends. I am also a solo Master Corsec Freelance and trust me, the two gunboats on the last tier 4 exit mission were tough. The vette was easier. I am known as a sucker for the newb and have given away millions in equipment and ships. I am known as the one to call if you are serious and need a ship outfitted or help with a mission or to master. I am not biased. In space, I will blow anything away. lol

Yep, I am a gouger. Nasty fellow until I give you a level 4 Uber gun that I re'd because most of my walk in customers would notunderstand that a .23 fire rate with good damage and low mass is good. Oh, come by and complain about my prices and you will be referred to a lower priced SW and put on my list. Come by and chat or as a question without an attitude and I may take you up and really teach you how to fly.

Hey Gonz, I really wasn't trying to look for price gouging approval. I'll be honest, I thought the price was way too high. I really did. But people were buying them, and not every blue moon. I was selling these steadily. My only disapproval was the people putting up items for sale w/o checking the market. I am a very reasonable SW, especially on my ground resource only products. But asteroid resource required product pricingis all over the place. All I was asking of my fellow SW's is to check the market. If the market price seems high, undercut it and see what happens, but they shouldn't start that price at less than 10% of what the market states.

Re-read my posts. I checked the market. Saw them for 20-30k. undercut that and then find you whining at me. And if they were selling SOOOOOO well then why is only 1 every 2 to 3 days selling? Sounds more to me you got caught being a greedy SW and then tried to keep the greed going by LYING to me.

Hey Az, what's up with the hostility? Before writing that g-mail, I made the assumption that you were the first to put up your mods because at the time I checked the prices, there were 2 at 25k, around 4 at 45k, and about 10 or so at 50k. So other than the 2 at 25k,you were much lower than everyone else. Therefore, when I saw that trend, it lead me to believe that you were the one out of sync with the market. My assumption was wrong and I trulyapologize for making such a stupid assumption. You are obviously a very reasonable SW at 60 cpu sinceminers sell to SW's at 75-100 cpu on our server, and that's fine. What I can't understand was why youhad to drag my name down to the ground by going straight to the Forums rather than explaining your situation / feelingsto me first? I came to you and receive no response, so I came to the forums, not to trash talk you, but to ask everyone as a whole to watch the market more closely. It changes often and we need to adapt as it changes.

I almost bought this for a second. Till a big lightbulb popped over my head. This thread was posted on the 19th. I recieved the email when I logged in on the evening of the 19th. I was logged on till 11pm on the 18th so it was sent between 11pm on the 18th and 6pm on the 19th. This was then posted on the evening of the 19th.

My point? You didnt exactly wait very long for my "response" before coming to these forums BEFORE me and posting about it all.

SecondlyI posted to warn the communityto shop around and did NOT mention your name. Someone else made thelink to you. At which point you then tried to defend your position. At no point didI mention your name in my original post andI posted my thread AFTER yours.

Thirdlywhy shouldntI be hostile? You email me claming im ruining the market, and basically demandI raise my prices to 100k+ wait at most 20 hours for my response then come posting here. And then try and defend a position that sees you charging 800cpu for a common low resource item.

I think im well within my rights to be somewhat hostile in that situation.

Plus you shouldnt make assumptions about anything unless you've asked me directly why first.

I dont think anyone has a problem with what you are doing at all, but this guy (original poster) was charging 800 cpu.

So, he sold it for 800 CPU to some one that charges 100cpu for asteroid resources or1 million a point for CA's. More power to him. I also support the other guy that decided to sell them for 20k, or what ever the price was. He has no real beef. He got undersold. Want to bet the 20k guy will not be able to keep up with demand? I never did understand why people complain one way or the other about prices other people in the same profession charge. I can understand why the customer might complain even though he might be a different crafter that charges more per cpu. It is always too cheap when you are selling it and too expensive when you are buying it. lol
