Alot of grinding sw sell their chassis at rock bottom prices to try and make up some of the money needed to buy more resources.
Be aware that since RotW went live, selling any ship-related items at rock bottom prices borders on stupidity. Space has become all the craze for many reasons that I won't go into (unless you want me too). About the only thing that isn't selling these days is tier 4 and master ships (as players would much rather tool around in one of their quest reward or loot ships).

Since the vendor search came into play, before that it was a waste of resources. Oh ya this is on Eclipse.
