Thread: How would you like to be Inspired?

And for those wondering about Rols_Cerentz's comment about "a wholly different style of Z-95, to show the long standing 'evolution' of this venerable design," copy and paste the following into a browser window:

This page has a great model made by someone who read the Han Solo at Star's End books a bit too closely. It is a serious piece of minor EU errata, but very cool none the less.
If you read some other EU material, the Z-95 has a much longer history beyond just a Mark I and Mark II Models. Much EU material explains the Z-95 as a starfighter that evolved over many variants, starting out as a planetary aircraft, then short-range starfighter and eventually evolving into the angular shape as the predecessor of the X-Wing.
It would be nice to be able to craft some of those other designs as well.

One of the coolest things Ive seen is the kash reward booster put on a bellbulab... It gets pipes down the sides making it look even more like a hotrod than usual. So if it was possible through inspiration to get different crafted part looks I would be very happy.
Uhhh yes SWs should be able to put costumizations to ships like kills and stuff... Buuuut would that not be a bit beyond the crafting part. We have another profession that isnt feeling alot of love either ID who I think could actually work this also just like now with a window for both user and ID just with a ship instead. Paintjobs, fusilage mods and stuff like that could I think also be ID work since its part of the pilots "image". Maybe it would take a shipwright made modkit or something. I still also think that IDs should be able to ID vendors also but a whole other thread in itself...
One note though.... These kinds of inspirations will have to be stackable with the with the insp buff as we know it now with the more amazings...
I love looks but I still really really look at stats before looks and I am sure so does most others.
To (hopefully) clear up a little of the debate: yes, we're looking for things that aren't "teh w1n button" such as an extra point or two of experimentation. But adding appreciable bonuses (non-fluff) is certainly a possibility, as are fluff ideas.
I've started compiling all the info I've gathered and will keep checking back here for any further things you come up with!
These could probably be used accross the board for all crafting profesions.
- 5% reduced resources needed
- 1 extra experimentation point
- better chance of critical success when experimenting
- reduced chance of critical failure
- for limited use schematics, 10% chance of the schematic surviving the crafting process

This thread is for ideas to add more extra's to the shipwright profession, not give them more exp points and better succeses wich we or other professions dont need. Changing the quality of the items made by a crafter is anoying since the previous crafted items become junk.

I like the idea of being able to customize the ship via an ID-esque window, however, I think that should be a standard part of the SW skills, not as a perk from an Inspiration buff. I do like the idea of being able to choose from a larger color selection and possibly have more texture designs available from this buff. I also like the idea of a boost to experimentation success, an effect like drinking Bespin port. Not a hugh boost, but maybe 5 or 10% or so would be nice.
What about something like anEfficiency bonus? I think someone else made a point like this earleir in the post, but what about making things use slightly less resources while Inspired? Again, nothing groundshaking, but what about a 1 or 2% decrease in the number of resources used? I don't think that would radically alter the balance of things, but in the long run it could help save some resources.

This is not about adding extra items/abilities to the shipwright profession. Its about what type of inspiration buffs we want to receive that will help us benefit in our profession.
If you read up on whats going on with the entertainers right now, they want to be seen as a benefit to players. They want players to desire to go and watch/listen to them. However they don't want to be seen as a nessecary part of the game (like mind buff bots were pre CU). Thus, they're benefits will be small but nice to have. They won't be absolutely esential but will be very benefitial.
