I've made Novas' with over 5 mil mass on Starsider, so unless they've changed anything 5 mil isn't the maximum acheivable.

I'm looking from my fellow shipwrights point of few and I'm seeing probally around 8 million resources wasted on blueprints he has crafted. That is major, coupled with a solo group nerf, need to make up for wasted resources...That is a firm strike in the spine, months of building up stock, weeks of crafting, millions of credits spent to purchace additional resources because initial stock was spent just that quick...

Horrible...

Holy Hell will be raised if it IS RETROACTIVE.

How fair would it be to retro this change and not every other change they make in the game?

Just enjoy the fact that we'll make more money replacing the chasis with higher mass versions, or consider it a cost of business and generate some increased customer loyalty.

Do Free Trade-Ins if they buy so many parts or something.

I made a yt1300 last saturday and it had 5 mill mass. I also made 2 firesprays with around 180k+ mass. I still have one firespray in blueprint form ill check it out and see if it went up or not

From what I understood this is just being implemented on the Test Server. Hasn't gone live yet. My advice is don't waste resources building those ships in the meanwhile.

The Dev's have already made retroactive changes in game.
They did it with droids.

This isn't anything new. Having a 15K credit droid that becomes
obsolete is minor inconvenience.

A 300K credit Ixiyen chassis that becomes obsolete is a huge freakin' problem.

They're not changing the mass on it to make it a little cooler. They're changing
the mass because the ship is freakin' useless. Mine is collecting dust.
Since we can't check maneuverability ratings on chassis, I have this under-massed
pig of a ship sitting there.

So what, I'm supposed to feel good about shelling out another 300,000 in the hopes
that it is worth it this time?
No dice. That would suck the big one.

I understand the precidence, but your looking at tons of wasted resources. It can be price gouged, but ultimately this should have been known, or existed already. And there was a Creature trade in available for the changes present in that profession.

Aye it's happened before but never in a feild that requires this amount of raw resources. It's a shameful waste of good resources used in constructing top of the line ships which will be obselete and essentially unsalable, not to mention undercut by better ships post patch made with lesser quality materials.

Horrible implementation yes. With a balance change like this coming so soon after release it should have been on the drawing board already, if not the profession should have been made aware before wasting resources to make their stock right.

As I said, I welcome the changes as a privateer. As a buisness partner, I look at a guildmates vendor and count 20 chassis on the first page alone that will become trash. As a guildmember I look at the time spent accumulating the resources needed for this indeavor, guild wide, and see time, effort, and treasury funds lost to no avail.

I see this more along the lines of the Dev promt to the DE community to stock up on items before the Droid Rebuild, only to find those items nerfed to uselessness post patch. Less along the lines of novelty melons.

There comes a time in every mans life when 86 years is just too damn long...

FREE TRADE INS?!!??!! Are you Nucking Futz?!

You must never have tried shipwright if you think it is as easy as replacing a chassis that cost tens of thousands of resources to make. Great thinking there! Why not just bank tip them all my credits while we're at it!

Rock, what I think he is saying is your take the chassis to the chassis dealer and he gives you a new one with the correct mass, much like when pets got nerfed and you followed the instructions to get it fixed. That simple. I think that could be implemented simply.

Take the Firespray for example, most people on my server are paying 6-20 mil for one, and its all about 180k mass. If they bump it to say 250k mass, and the Iyxien (sp?) is at 200k, then what is the point of the million dollar paperweight? All you would have to do is take it off your datapad, then drag and drop the chassis onto the chassis vendor at your local starport and get the return of a 250k mass one. That way the customers are happy they did not get jipped and the shipwrights don't have to trash millions of dollars of inventory causing other chassis to skyrocket in price.

I think that makes perfect sense, and being that there is a precidence of the developers adding such a trade in system, it is very plausable.

The only way a trade in could work is if it was restricted to master shipwright he trades ship in and gets back the resources needed to make that ship. Incase of firespray he gets resources and a 1 time use schematic.

I dunno, getting the resources back still forces us to recraft the ship, and restock the Vendor. With Shipwrights already insanely busy am I supposed to take off the roughly 10 of each effected Chassis, take them into a lagged out NPC city filled with spamming idiots, and have them each swapped only to take them back to my Vendor, and reload them one at a time?

That is a whole lot of work, ON TOP OF the day to day stuff, just because the devs want to make a change without supporting the existing standards they've set in place. No deal.
