I run out of stock almost as soon as I make it.
I think many of us are in the same boat (read: ship).
I have barely been able to keep up with my vendors for the last two weeks. I even raised prices in hopes sales would go down a bit... nope. That just made me more money, heh.

On Kett, there were quite a few low ball SWs that produced a whole lot of cheap junk. Yes, they all burned out fast.
I am a MSW but don't advertise it. I do only special projects. If you need something special, you can contact me. I use only the best materials. If you are looking for run of the mill stuff, I can probably send you in the right direction.
Thanks for the honest opinion. I was wondering though--do you really see a big diferrence when you use top quality resources in crafting ship components? I don't think 1 mil creds for a level 9 armor is worth it. (And I saw that on a vendor that will remain nameless). When I am up in space I don't see the benifit of having the most expensive comps in my ship. With decay and such it just makes me more timid in PvP nad PvE.
I want the best comps for my ships of course but I don't want to sell the farm to get those things. Nor do I want to buy cheap stuff. I look to buy good comps at reasonable prices. Some things that are disposable like armor I will buy for cheap. And things that don't have any benefit with better resources such as a cargo hold. I would only pay 1 cpu for the resources used to make a caro hold.
I am not trying to be disrespectful, I want to establish good relations with you guys. Thanks.
Is that level 9 armor standard Mark V armor or is it Elite POB armor? That does sound a little on the high side. 150k for Mark V and 400k for Elite is probably a little more reasonable.
Cargo hold is a bad example. That uses asteroid resources to make. Noone would ever sell one for 1cpu.
I guess it is all relative. To give a concrete example, with grind resources, a Mark IV shield would be about 1600-1700 f/r With good resources, it would be 1900-2000 f/r. It is more pronounced in reactors. A Mark I reactor made with grind resources would be ~1375 mass 10.3k generation. With good resources it would be 1300 mass and 12.5k generation. Are those difference worth it to you? If not, buy the cheap stuff or use loot.

oh and by the way, head over to "in testing - dev" forum and checkout the test center updates. Sign of things to come?
You mean the lack of anything substantial, or did I miss something in there? The only thing I saw was about inviting NPC to go for a ride and dropping toons on top of one another when ride is over...

THe artisan correspondent mentioned a rumour that vehicles will get a ship-like makeover (individual components. etc). Haven't seen anything sw related.
I wish they would do this for droids too.
Well the fact is that all resources have value. Although I would love it if I could gather every resource myself, its not uncommon for me to go on a resouce shopping spree and spend millions of credits to get the best possible materials. Also even a simple thing like a cargo hold, it uses all space resources. Those resources have a very real value as you can even sell them to space NPCs at up to 20 CPU for some. This is non inclusive of the time you spend mining them with ships with very limited capacities due to the only ship with decient compacity (Y-8) being hopelessly buged, so you have to land and unload every 1550 resources. In the past, what has lead to the decline of Ship Wrights in general has been the inability to actually sell goods at their fair value compaired to other professions. I have seen grinder ships requiring tens of thousands of resources being dumped for 6k in the bazaar. While this is great for the consumer, it made being a SW unprofitable and to do business at that rate would mean actually operating at a loss. I could never be a general SW as the demands would far exceed my time and I have no credit needs that require to work that hard
