Price according to what the market and your conscience will bear. What everyone else charges is immaterial so long as you make the sale.

Well, I sell everything at 4cpu. I harvest my own resources, I use the best possible and my guild also donates and runs harveys to help me keep up the demand. I sell all crafted components at 10k per Mark. Mark 5 is 50k, Mark 4 is 40k, etc. I use best experimentation and make to order, so they cost a bit more because of the time it takes to make a full set.Mostly I sell to guildies but outsiders find their way to my vendor also, They get the same deal. They also donate sacks of looted components at 1cr which I r/e and resell, regardless of how good or bad they are, at 1k each. I dont feel I am either undercharging OR overcharging. ( although 5 mill for a firespray was nice
) But when I think of how many thousands of parts I had to r/e to get that scheme....
I am making a profit, not as massive as some, but the fact is, there is very little to buy in this game when you are mainly a crafter.
Sometimes I donate ships to help someone out. I am sure demand will lessen eventually, but for now, I am tied to the station and cant get away long enough to make ME a ship, lol.

Oh yeah, I agree... money really dosen't do much good as a crafter except to keep your harvesters running and your house decorated. I give away stuff all the time... in fact I've been running a 20th purchase free campaign for a few months now.... mostly I refund furniture sales, but every once in awhile I get to give away something big.... I'd drop it to every 15th or 10th purchase, but with furniture sales as high as they are that's just be a nightmare.
But yeah It's nice to have a guild that backs you, some however are not that fortunate. There are alot of crappy guilds out there and alot of unguilded crafters.

i sell all my stuff at 4cpu with a markup. i dont run a vendor, i dont like them. i do all my business in person and i dont advertise. i do enough business to make a nice profit and keep my harvestors going. if i dont have enough to make a ship i just tell a customer that i dont have enough to make a ship. i am not going to stress over not making a sale. im in it to have fun not corner every single last deal on the market.
i also harvest all my own resources. so i AM seling at a profit

You're all talking about selling chassis for 5cpu or more as if its the most common thing in the world. Im a SW 1000 without stockpiles of resources or alot of money. I got a shop 800m south of coronet, thats one of the best places for a shop in the galaxy. The problem is that i have a Master SW directly next to my shop and another one directly behind mine, both with well stocked vendors. Of course people check by my shopquite often.I have Y-Wings and Ties in my Vendor for 30k, thats 2cpu, and im still waiting to sell my first chassis. I really dont want to destroy the market with cheap prices but I cant even think about raising the prices to 5cpu. Maybe if there were only a few SW on the server, but as im playing on Chimaera there are SW everywhere now.

I would really look at either moving to a differnetand area less packed area for the profession. What the problem you seem to be having is that your like a dollar store sitting betwen a Super Walmart and a Super targtt.... there's no way you can compete with that . Instead you might want to look at selling to them instead. Check their prices and see which has the highest markup.... see who the item owner is on the vendor and send him/her a tell or e-mail telling them you'd be willing to sell them chassis as a discount. Me personally... I'd take you up on that and I'm sure one of them will do the same....
