Thread: Petition for Firespray Frag drop rate
I'm happy with the frequency of drops on average - but as a per RE not per item processed dropped I have a way to grind out
firesprays (grab Novice or 0100 Pilot, equip with the best low-level kit I can get and grind Level 1 static spawns)
It would be better switched to a per-item probablity, with the rate appropriately reduced to maintain overall likelyhood.
It's worth noting though that because a set-of-8 for a level 8 item is harder to come by that a single 1, that it might not increase
the overall drop rate - but it would balance better against the mature phase of JTL when the majority of players are Master Pilots.

Why do you want the Firespray to become commonplace? If you do this, it won't be worth anymore than any other master ship. Relax and have some fun with the game--it will come.
if the FS goes the way of RIS, its just plain stupid and a time and money sink.
its not fun to have to RE thousands of loot pieces to get a schematic. The FS should be not-common, but i do not think it should be super-rare, like RIS.
SW have been outcrafted by loot, outsold by dealers. All we have really is the fun of getting schematics through RE'ing. We are NOT like WS, so to compare to RIS is silly... (not that YOU did, but that seems to be the comparason)
I have RE'd everythign i can get my hands on, incl off bazzar to complete sets, (about 300 separate pices) with only a 3/8 to show for it.
if you think it shoudl be realy rare, it means you have a huge guild, or already have a schematic. And dont ask why i presume to know YOUR situation, when you presume to know others...
so i /sign. its the obvious thing to do.
First, I think it's a little early to make claims that the Firespray has gone the way of RIS.
Second, it isn't about capability (such as RIS armor), it's about status. Players pay for status. Players pay for rare stuff. Look at the new cafe tables and large couches--I know players selling these items for upwards of 50K a piece, and they are selling!
Third, the Firespray should be rare. The Essential Guide to Vehicles indicates that Kuat Shipyards made a limited number of these ships.

Because it is an RE level 10 part. The frags are a bonus to the RE process the RE process is to make parts better.Message Edited by Bastilaa on 12-06-2004 12:40 PM
This is faulty thinking. You're metagaming here.
The Firespray pieces don't come from your RE tool, they come from the loot you RE. And if it only takes one item to potentially get a disk at level one, why on earth would it take ten to get one at level 10? It just doesn't make sense. If there is a .5% chance for a disk to fall out of a level one loot item, why shouldn't there be a .5% chance for it to fall out of each level ten item?

Whilst I do not disagree that a Lvl 10 part should have an increased chance of droping a part as you stated lvl 1 part is .5 then a level 10 should have a better chance due to the number of parts. I'm confused by your issue on needing 10 parts to RE a lvl 10 component. I always looked at it from the point of view it is much more complicated peice of equipment and you needed more examples of how it works.

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying that you should only need one Lvl 10 part to RE it. I'm only talking about drop rates for the disks.
OK let me try again - if I try enough times I bound to get it right eventually ![]()
Are you saying that becuase I'm using a lvl 10 item to RE which takes 10 items I should have 10 times the chance of getting a Disk frag as I would have RE'ing a lvl 1 item?
