I have done a couple of things.
1st - I have two accounts so have access to a full 20 lots
2nd - I have friends IRL that play on other servers so we swap lots and I don't have to worry about theives trying to steal stuff outta houses or anything like that.
3rd - When SW first came out I offered FREE ships to anyone that simply allowed me to use their spare lots for a single spawn. I ended up with about 50 harvestors placed on all different resources.
4th - One of my chars is now Jedi so I have the option of creating a 3rd character and using his lots.
5th - I buy resources if I need to.
Oh and I have a PA but I very rarely ever get resources or lot usage from them(several participated in the free ship deal however).

Well, I'm not in a PA, only have one account, and haven't started lot-sharing yet. I've got one small house, one factory, and I use the other seven lots to harvest various things, mostly steel. Since the prices of steel were so whacko at first, I didn't buy any of that, but I would buy the others, aluminum, inert petro, etc. Now that steel prices are back to normal, I'm buying a little of that. Right now I've got one fusion on high grade polymetric radioactive, one heavy mineral on fermionic siliclastic ore, one deep crust chem on gravitonic fiberplast, andthree heavy minerals on steel. Right now, my last lot is a medium chem just on some random inert petrochemical, since I ran out, and can't find anybody with supplies at a reasonable price. Also, couldn't find another deep crust chem last night before I went to bed.

NON-PA, here as well.
Moving into SW was great for me.
My first job was and is a 'resource dealer' been doing that since the begining. We have 100's of movable harvs in our organization...although we are not as big now....largest number of employees (ever) was calculated around 75. We fluctuate size to fit our business model. I fear what is happening on our server now as a lot of well known and established crafters are quiting the game. may be trouble for businesses like mine.
