My Mark 3 Reactors are 8.1k Mass and 14.4k energy. I use an overcharger subcomponent

I think a large problem with most peoples builds is that they are using the best enhancement for that mark of reactor/weapon/etc. A lot of times, I find that with some components, a mark 2 enhancement is better than a mark 3. For example...
I built a Mark 4 reactor with a mark 3 overcharger.
Mass: 17894
Power: 15390
Cost to Customer: 49500
I then built a Mark 4 reactor with a Mark 4 overcharger:
Mass: 19387
Power: 15581
Cost to Customer: 61875
Is 200 more power worth the extra 1.5k mass and 10k credits? I don't think so. Some might still buy it though.
I use Mark 2 speed limiters in my weapons, and they reduce power per shot as much as a mark 3, only they use less resources (costing less) and don't reduce refire rate as much.
I don't believe that the biggest power output makes the best reactor. In fact, having that much power is a waste of mass unless you need it all.
Another example. I made Mark 3 plating with mark 3 reinforcement. 1000/1000 (roughly) with 7k mass. A plain mark 4 plating is 1200/1200 with 13k mass. The first choice is the best as far as I am concerned. It is the more efficient choice.
The best shipwrights are going to be the ones with the dedication to find better alternatives to just having the highest level pieces of equipment in their ship. The ones who find the most efficient combination for their customers to allow more flexibility in other areas.

It is worth it if the powerplants going into a YT, a Decimator, or a Nova
