Stockpiled resources for 14 month (minus use for architect profession).

Some 10 mill steel prepared for JTL, now selling some steel to other SW. About 3 mill of it high end top of the line stuff.

Have fun

I figured steel would be a main ingredient bout a month ago, but I was a major slacker and didn't do anything. Now I'm waiting around for my 10 harvies to pump it out. Oh well, I fly while I wait.

I'm sorta into crafting (as you can tell from my sig )

I had 5.5 million steel in inventory when JTL went live. Ground out master in a short while, because I had millions in stockpile. Once I Mastered, I stocked 1 of every ship, and began working on the components spreadsheet (lvl 1-5 Armor, lvl 1-5 reactor etc.) 25 of each unit. Toss in Mk 1 & 2 Concussion & Proton Torpedos.

Spreadsheet is 80% complete...and I'm out of steel. Folks who are selling ships at .65 cpu are in for a rude shock when they try to sell parts for all those grind ships they sold.

What are you talking about here?

Can you please elaborate. I am unable to understand what you are saying about an 80% complete spreadsheet when you only explain about 40% (Really rough guess) of what you are attempting to convey.

Sure! Sorry for the confusion.

I made out a spreadsheet of all items a shipwright makes. It goes along the lines of

Armor MK1 MK2 MK3 MK4 MK5

Shields MK1 MK2 MK3 MK4 MK5

Reactors MK1 MK2 MK3 MK4 MK5

MISSLES

Concussion MK1 MK2 MK3

Proton MK1 MK2 MK3

etc etc etc. There are 7 basic components (I'm at work, bear with me here, please) including Armor, Droid Interface, Shields, Reactors, Capacitors, Boosters, and Engines. There are also 5 different counter measures, plus launchers. Blasters, Torpedo Luanchers (each torpedo and counter-measure requires it's own launcher) Cannons...it's a big list. A full run of MK2 Concussion missles will take 2 miilion in steel, as an example.

I had 5.5 million in steel, when JTL went live. I made grind ships, and gave them to guildies who helped me amass my stockpile. Then I spent 3 days hand crafting 25 components of each component tree, not counting weapons. Toss in selling @ 14 chassis. I am all out of steel, and the spreadsheet list for a fully stocked Vendor is 70-80% complete.

<edit>

This is getting slightly off topic. I apologize. I wanted to show that steel is in high demand. I'll clam up, now.

Hmmm I am seeing this a lot lately. In fact I have a few friends that are taking up the profession. I wish them luck but here is the problem. They have been trying to get the resources for the better part of a week now. They see how much money can be made int he profession.

Well I have had a 40 static lots for over a year now. I was an Architect so that chewed some resources. Plus I run 3 Accts and have a jedi so I use those also. Before JTL hit I had well over 60 Million in resources stored away. Not that I was saving it for this, but i knoew a rainy day would it one day. Now with my large supply of resources I already see that I am running low on steel already. And this is one week into the profession.

Just a FYI to the newer guys. This is not the easiest crafting profession to get into. All main comps have to be done by hand. It is a huge time investment, but one I am enjoying. I wish I could help each and every perosn that needed me. I have been in space a total og about 1 hour since I got jtl.

So if you are having problems now getting resources to master the profession. It will get 10 times worse to stay in business.

im not one of these guys that have a guild backing me up . its me and 3 other friends . i handle the shop and vendors and another one of us has full acces to all acounts and sets up all the harvestor picking up differnt stuff .. that being said . we harvest everything needed for a shipwright , weaponsmith, and armorsmith, and i just might hit master this week . point is though we control our prices by harvesting alone. once in every great while we will buy what we need .. under emergancies . like this morning a custamer wanted one of my ships and i was out on the vendor so i pick up 2k of something just to make her a ship . my best advise is to not try to be a manster by tomarrow just go at the speed you can . with proper advertiseing and pricing you will still make money . will it be millions in a week . no but it may be a few hundred k here and ther .

im not a master yet but i have a good following of custamers . 3 of which i set up on a points program where for every custamer they send me that buys and that person when they buy tell me whop sent them they may earn percentage points .. 1 percent per sale .. and ill discount them that percentage when they need to buy something again . and so on . its all in the advertising really . get to master youll make the money . but enjoy the ride not the stop .. =) thats going to be my new philosophy

As an architect, i had 4mil sitting in bags on my personal crafting resource vendor. I had plenty, afer mastering and stocking my vendor a little, not so plenty lol.

SW take a huge amount of resources, going to have a lot of people quit SW after they make their small fortune. And only be a select few on each server that can mass produce ships/components. Best bet- go into the resource minning business asap
