I use it now, and 10k mass will make it even more attractive 30k mass is way to restrictive, that extra 10k will make it much more manageable for those who know how to tune it properly. All depends on the role you need ... want a fast nimble fighter? now you can actually use this one w/o spending a week dialing it in =)

The lizard is definately pimp, I must agree!

I seriously hope our tier 4 bomber gets at least 180k mass. Silly that at tier 4, it's not as good as any of the lower tier bombers from the other proffesions.

Thanks for the info.

But how about Scyk? It outshines any class of privateer ships in terms of nimbleness, but it is so overlooked because of its pathetically lowmass value.

I want my Syck chassis balanced too. Please please please.

Big question: Do these mass changes affect handling (compared to live) in ANY way?

What does the Khirazx have over an A-wing or a Tie Advanced to justify it having less than 1/2 the mass?

Not that it necessarily justifies the mass being so low, but the Khirazx has 400 Pitch and Yaw accel rates, and 200 roll accell rate. I had hoped they would bring it up to 50k mass, but I will definately take the 10k extra. If you are lucky enough to find or RE a quick light engine, this ship will rock. You dont HAVE to have the biggest weapons or shields. As long as you are not going up against a ship with a turret (I hate turrets, btw), the Khirazx is more than capable of surviving for long stints in Kessel.

I love manuverable ships. But at 30k mass, it seems that the Khiraxz is just not going to cut it. What does the Khirazx have over an A-wing or a Tie Advanced to justify it having less than 1/2 the mass? Even at 40k, i still think this chassis is going to be out classed. Unless there is something I'm missing with it (other than its a privateer ship and were stuck with an under weight light interceptor)

Current handling/mass for these chassis in live: (stolen from the pilot's guide in the pilot forums)

A-Wing - [Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 250 Yaw 250 Roll 125] 65k mass

TIE Adv- [Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 300 Yaw 300 Roll 150] 65k mass
Kihraxz - [Spdx ?? Acc 40 Dec 50 Pitch 400 Yaw 400 Roll 200] 30k mass

At 30k mass, I agree with you that the increase in handling is not worth the sacrifice, as it will still be extremely under-par when compared to the other factions choices. However, I believe that upping the mass on this chassis to only 40k makes it a much more viable solution, w/o overpowering it. @ 40k average mass, it is only 25k less than it's counterparts... I believe any more mass than this would be overpowered, and other players would either cry for a nerf, or better handling characteristics for their respective chassis

To me, 40k mass seems like the best give and take for this chassis for the Mass to Handling ratio. The Freelancers will have to test this out of course, but just looking at the data... this seems to feel right.

I'm all for bumping the Kihraxz - it makes sens in the scheme of things - but, yet again, I must implore the developers to consider allowing the 'noob' ships to experiment upwards of 25K mass.

As it stands right now, the 14K top end (if you're lucky enough to find one) just isn't enough to distinguish a crafted starter ship from the one you're given.

Sure, the player craftable ship is 'upgradable', but to what? A slightly less pathetic version of the starter ship with worse shields, no armor and slightly better guns?

I hope to see the variation in ships become more viable as time wears on. I like my Dune Lizard - it's not that, but man, if I could squeeze 20 -205K out of a Scyk, I'd never look back... (and I'd have to to see my persuers).

Basically, the Z95 and the Scyk are getting the short end of the stick IMO, and that's too bad because nothing beats there handling. =\

I wouldn't complain if we saw more of these chassis past tier 1. I also believed that these ships had the best handling in the game as well... this is true when it comes to yaw/pitch/roll (600/600/300) but after some boredom induced silliness, I dropped my 95.9 speed engine into a skyk to play with it. it ended up with the same speed mod as a dunelizard.... so not quite as fast as advance/kihraxz/Awing trio. I was disappointed =/ (had I been able to drop my evil RE'd lvl 2 blaster with 0.9 sheild/armor effectiveness in this thing, with a DI and a small cap.. I was going to go to Kessel and "play")

I've never even looked at the mass of my parts, I have a Y-wing. Course it turns like a cruise liner, but it can take a beating.
