Are you aware that RotW will introduce some new ships? Two that I know of include a mining ship (that will apparently be able to carry up to 20 players) and the Jedi Star Fighter 2 (introduced in RotS).
I do have a couple of comments regarding your list:
- The following ships are already available: SlaveI (the Kuat Firespray) and TIE Fighter.
- Capital ships would be interesting, but I wonder how much the devs can actually give us. If you notice, the current multiplayer ships are fairly limited as to what they offer for an interior.

I wish to see a much greater variety of ships in the game, but I would strongly oppose player owned capital ships. I think the mining ship will be the biggest thing we should have.
If not capital class ships..how about moire cargo ships and freighters? some non combat ships, ships that could be used for space races. More fighters in general.
And to help with that capital class urge we all have how about space battlefields where you get to man a gun on a capital class ship(or fly your ship and fight the fighters up close, pvp and pvebattefield of course)

If they did add factional captial ships they could make it non-craftable only buyable from faction recruiters with such a huge cost (maybe credit/factional) that it would limit its amount so great that seeing a player controlled one would be like ...wow. They should also not be upgradable of course. They are so huge though, it would interesting to see this... I am all for it.

Yeah..that would work better than having a shipwright make it..but a lot of the other ships I suggested should be in game...like the naboo ship..you should get that ship when you join the RSF

Quick hits:
The Star Destroyer in Deep Space is roughly 1.6km long. (I flew alongside it once and measured.) This sounds like about 1/10 the canon size, but from a purely mechanical stance, you could fit one or three of these in a sector without any problems of room. Still, they're awfully large to even think about implementing. Stuff around the Vette's size could work, though, it'd just take a lot of development resources.
We're getting at least three new ships with RotW! The ARC 170's been confirmed as coming with the expansion. Who knows, maybe there'll be one or two on top of that.
People really don't just stick to one type of ship for fighting. In PVP, I fly alongside Advanceds, Interceptors, Oppressors, and even the odd Firespray against A-Wings, X-Wings, and the occasional Y-Wing, with Dunelizards and Krayts on both size. PVE's somewhat different, but even then there's modest variety among pilots. I certainly wouldn't mind a couple more master-viable ships for each faction, but it's really not a "composite in space" situation or anything. There's a lot of different pilot styles out there.
I'd like to see some of our outstanding issues (capacitors, engines, droid brain upgrades, etc.) addressed before serious work is done on more classes of ships. They'd be very welcome additions, but I feel it's important to get the basics of the profession settled before we get into adding further layers to it.

While this may be pulling my own thread off topic a bit...the basic problems of ships prolly should be fixed first before adding more (like... tier 1 chassis that people are charging between 40k and 90k for)
but eventually they do need to add mroe ships (more than the ones coming with the expansion)..just to give us more choices

OK. In response to a lot of what I have read.
1. More freighters and non combat. YES! I have a list of 8 freighters, and something like 8 smaller ships.
Look at XWA Upgrade to see a number of different freighter designs.
2. The ISD in Deep Space is an ISD mark I, block II. That means it is one of the refitted ISDs like the ISD mark Is in Empire Strikes back. These ships are supposed to be 1607 meters long. In galaxies, they are actually around 2550 meters long, give or take about 150. This is over a kilometer larger than they should be, but since the scale of the ship is a lot closer to what looks right than any other game, I'm ok with it.
3. Factional capital ships. If they did include these, I'd like to see them as like bases on the ground. MAke them buyable, then you drop them is space and it spawns a capital ship that flys around that system in a sort of loop, like the vette in kessel. Make a limit on how many ships can be in a system at once. Have there be both PVE and PVP versions, where PVe has fighter escort and gunboat escort, just like the vette, but the PVP has no normal escort, but can only hurt or be hurt by overt players. Keep the prices low, because it is a lot easier to destroy a vette than a base on the ground, even a FO. But limit the number in the system at once to like 10 capital ships between the sides. The side with the advantage of capital ships gets some sorf of bonus, maybe in FP gain or something, cheaper repairs at the station, giving an incentive to destroy the enemies capital ships and deploy your own. But capital ships should be NPC only, never player controlled.

Check out the stratics chat from last nite. Looks like there will be more than just the two ships. They mentioned one other that I don't remember the name of (probably because I have never heard of it, and I have every Star Wars book known to man

OK, the new ship mentioned in the stratics chat last nite is the ARC 170. Someone has posted a link to some artwork in another thread.

I would like to have a Gallofree madium transport. Just for RP purposes. The problem of adding new ships is the factional thing. There are tons of ships from the original saga and the space simulators. The problem is to distribute them for the players. In my view, any ship that comes now, should be accessible to all players. Unless it is is a new model of tie or a modification of a rebel fighter. The other non-faction related ships should be avaliable to all others.
I would like to see more MP ships in game. If you open your keyboard options, you will see that we have 8 groups of weapons and 8 weapon activation keys. The vette and the gunboats has 8 guns too. I hope this mean something for the future.
