Ok I had a Stat PHD check my work in a math forum. I was wrong a little bit.
If everything is completly random:
50% of people can expect to get all 8 discsby thetime they have gotten22 discs (some of those 50% will get earlier)
-So that includes 14 duplicates for the average joe before he/she getsa set.
I havent gotten the rest of the distribution back yet.

On the Naritus server, I've collected 7 discs.. 4 of them being #7's. These four all popped off lvl 1 kuat components re'd by themselves, within the last 2 weeks, 3 of them coming back to back to back. Of all seven discs, one was attained outside of the kuat comp first inside the tool method. #4 disc.
I'm not a veteran shipwright by any means, but my first impression says that lower lvl, or re'd lvl 1 comps might chance a specific duplicate disc. I was interested to learn that others are perceiving runs of duplicates, especially if they are re'ing primarily 1-2's.

Ive gotten 12 disks so far (Thats just under 1 disk for every 100 RE jobs). I have gotten one dupe for disk 1, 4, 6, and 8. I still need disks 5 and 7 for a set. All have come from level 1 and 2 loot and only a single disk has come from an RE job that had a Kuat loot in it. It takes longer to assemble higher level RE jobs so naturally most disks drop from lower level RE jobs. I think its absolutely random based of discussions and comparisons with SW's on my server and the data ive read in the forums, everyone seems to have their own patterns which is to be expected.
But thats just my opinion =)
