I have never charged for RE and never will.
I sell RE'd parts at 500cr/level
I buy RE'able parts at 2k/level
{do the math, EVERYONE thinks I'm crazy!}
I used to do this just to get the KSE Firespray discs, but now
that I have hit that milestone I do it for sake of encouraging
piloting in JTL. I think pilots should focus on the FUN aspect
of the game rather than worrying about grinding for credits.
I get more vendor offers of parts than I can keep up with,
and keep hundreds of the lower level RE'd parts on my part vendor.
Higher level parts sell fast (higher % RE increase and cheap)
I sell all master ships (all factions) for 395k, level_4 for 115k.
I get tons of repeat business and referrals, so business is good.
These factors attract peripheral business for my other vendors: deeds,
weapons, powerups, tools, furniture, resources, master artisan components
that droid engineers like, etc.
So overall, I still enjoy crafting and supporting the Pilots of JTL

Well seeing as I'm just starting out as a SW and I did it mostly to help out my guild's squadron, I really dont charge for it. I did have some guy come up to me last night while I was in my travels and and he asked me if I did free RE's and I told him that I would.
The way that I see it is that if someone wants me to RE for them, they can come to me in my shop. That way I'm not only creating a relationship with the customer, I am also showing them where my shop is located and they can get an idea of the products that I offer.
Now although I'm concerned that the new vendor search is going to cut into repeat buisness somewhat, I still think that a customer is more likely to check out a shop of someone that they have a relationship with.

I often tip in REable parts rather than creds. Particularly lvl 1 and 2 stuff. As shipwrights does that sound appropriate to you or would you just as soon get the cred?

Personally I have never gotten a complete set of Firespray schematics, so I could see myself being more than happy to take a lump of RE level 1 & 2 loot parts in exchange for some RE work for a pilot.
