I'm having the same problem, I'm master fencer/shipwright, but can't get any combat xp on my own at all without getting incapped/dying. I love the ideals behind the CU, but what I don't like is that it basically forces people to either always hunt with a group and only attack one creature at a time, be strictly combat with a couple combat professions, or to be a strict crafter. Great game-play with the CU, but needs much more tuning.

The changes to how resources are weighted. The crafting windows have to be updated to show the new weighing system, as it is a 600 CD duralloy is better then a 950 CD Crystallized Bicorb. Steel for a conductivity slot. I gave up trying to craft thisweek since I don't know the ranges of all my resources and I thus didn't know what was best for certain experimentation lines.![]()
This is a HUGE issue. The quality meters used to change as we single clicked on each kind of resource, so we could determine which of the 5 stacks of Iron would be better to use. Now, the meter bars stay black (unseen) until you actually commit a resource to that slot. If you want to compare, you have to remove the resource already in place and replace it with another.
To put this plainly:
- Have at least 3 types of different Iron (or 3 types of steel, or aluminum - but we'll use Iron in this example)
- start crafting with a starship crafting kit - pick a chassis to craft
- Notice when the new window loads, you have the left side for what resources you have available, in the center you have what types of resources are needed. If you DOUBLE-CLICK any of the iron resources in the Input Hopper or your inventory, it loads the required amount of iron.
- NOW you see the quality bar on the right. This bar doesn't appear until you load the component into the crafting process. And if you remove the resource (by double-clicking), the quality bar disappears again.
Big, big problem.
