Whether you have other POB ships in the datapad? Whether you've ever seen an error message of any kind when using the thing, even if it was only 'You cannot launch another ship with an interior...'? Anything might help...

Its very buggy. Take a look at my post up there. Being still, using droid commands and /examine can cause problems. Also you have to take note that when you fire your mining laser at the asteroids, to know if it will degrade or not by not /examining it, your lasers will produce a large flare upon impact on the asteroids. Kinda like an explosion. If you see that and no chunks spawn don't worry blast it till the asteroid respawn. If you don't see any flare/explosion upon impact, what I did was land, unload all components, redeed and do it all over again. This time I'll go without any droid commands. Usually it solves it then I will issue droid commands after getting like 10% cargo hold.

*Edit* I use Elite Mining Laser (Y-8 only) all three of them. I have yet to try using Tractor beam on the pilot gun (Weapon 2) and 2 Elite Mining Laser (Y-8 only) with my guildies.

*Also you can only fire your laser from the pilot seat to produce chunks. Leaving your seat and going to turret will not work. Even if there are players in both turret and you leave your seat the lasers "switches off".

Thanks for the suggestions... Sadly it didn't work. I took all the items out, removed all the components, re-deeded, logged out and back in, re-generated the ship, put everything back, flew out to an asteroid... And nothing's happening. My mining laser shots do nothing. I can confidently say that there's nothing wrong with the asteroid, since someone else was mining at the same time as I was doing my tests, and not only were they able to split chunks off but they were getting the large bright flashes of mining laser hits. My mining laser was producing the small unimpressive flashes of regular blaster hits.

Ah well, I guess I have to hope it gets fixed someday... Thanks again for the replies.

If you have 2 or more Mining Lasers try trading place with them. I had once happen to me with 2 of my Y-8 Lasers and I fix a MK3 Laser and it works. It probably have to do with the lasers but I'm not sure.

For what it's worth, I had the Elite Mining Laser loaded on my Y-8 (pilot controlled gun) and it was doing nothing to the asteroid. I landed, did some other stuff (on the ground) then launched again and killed a couple of Tier 1 ships (yes with the mining laser, didn't unload any gear or change anything) and then went back to the asteroid and voila ! It worked fine.

That's good news,,,,, I hope they fix the permissions lists on the POB ships as well.

I have not been able to add anyone to the admin lists for my YT or Y-8 at all,,,, kinda frusterating.
