After recently getting addicted to the idea of going fast in space, I got myself a Belbulabb and some bits and bobs. Current loadout:

Reactor:
MK IV Fusion Reactor, Overcharged.
Mass: 20011.0
Output: 16349.4 (x 1.9 for RO4= 31063.86)

Engine:
MK V (crafted)
Mass: 30578.1
Energy drain: 2415.8 (x10 for EO4 = 24158 )

Booster:
MK V booster with Overdriver
Mass: 35927.2
Drain: 679.8
Top speed: 48.0
Acceleration: 54.3

Droid Interface:
MK I with Speed upgrade
Mass: 429.7
Drain: 581.1
Speed: 25.4

(all crafted)

This leaves me with 3054 mass and 5644.96 energy (after droid progs)

With boosters and EO4 I reach 2028, wich is pretty fast. I want to go faster. Is it possible to build engines and boosters that would have higher output on Top Speed? Is it still so that the fastest of them are Reverse Engineered loot?

Oh, and is any of the other ships faster than the Belbullab with the same equipment?

If you have anything to offer or discuss or anything in-game, /mail me; Aronn on FarStar

As far as crafted goes, I managed a 119.4 engine with 70.1/70.1/61.7 on YPR with a 50.7 SPD booster, so yes its possible to get up there a little bit more. The booster came in at exactly 27400 mass so try looking for a little better on the materials. If I could find some sweet steel and fermionic siliclastic ore, I think I can hit the theoretical on both. Dunno though. Hitting 98% on booster and 94% on engine currently.

sweet! well PYR and mass isnt so important, since its just for racing. I dont know how the mss on the Vaksai is, but in the ARC-170 I had around 30k mass spare after I put in the fancy stuff.

anyone know how to calculate speed of the ship without actually flying it?

First, check the speed rating of the various ships in the Pilot FAQ. Example the Vaksai has a 1.0 or 100% speed use rating.

Keep that factor written down, remembered, whatever, as it will become important later.

Next, take the engine speed -.1. (For some STUPID reason, the actual speed ends up being -.1 ) If you are using Engine OL, I am sure EO4 is 1.4 times base speed, EO3 is 1.3 base speed then 1.2 and 1.1 for the other two overloads.

Add the booster speed.

Multiply the answer by 10.

This is your base speed.

Example: I have a 119.4 spd engine and a 50.7 spd booster. Thus my base speed is 119.3 + 50.7 or 170.0, 1700 in a 1.0 factor ship.

Now, factor in EO.

I use EO4. Sothe speed comes out to 167.0 base engine speed and 50.7 booster, or 2177 when factoring EO4 in the equation.

Now, here is where the speed factor comes into play.

Multiply this final number by the speed factor of your ship. That gives you your top speed.

Unfortunately, EO doesnt affect booster

Hope this helps
