Wow - very good question. I haven't used my YT enough to notice this. I'm going to take an educated guess and say that wecan only make one type - and that it must be a loot related thing like the different weapon graphics on looted stuff. Again - no research here, so there is a good chance I'm incorrect.

Well, I did a little bit of experimenting.. as much as my pocket book would allow.
Anything that is a derivative of "MARK X Starfighter Engine" will look like one of the sissies.
I tried an "elite" POB-only engine that was really good in stats, but it also looked like the sissy engines.
The looted one that actually looks like the falcon's engine is called something like a "corellian cruiser engine" and had less-than-stellar stats.
I realize this is something like trying to figure out what color a RE'd weapon is going to fire, but there's got to be some kinda pattern.

That's weird 'cause I used a crafted Mark V engine and it gives me the Falcon look. Same with the Nova. A Mark V engine gave me the "NPC Nova" look.

Can someone explain to me how an engine looks "sissy"? Does it spout pink and purple bows out the back of your ship? Is it shaped like a heart or a flower? I'm curious, how does this work?

Well, I'll assume you're familiar with the falcon's engine.
Take that engine, and cut the length into thirds. Keep only the center third.
Then take that part, and chop off half the height.
What you get is a little bitty tiny square on the back of a giant ship.

OK, now how does that look "sissy". Different, to be certain, but I'm failing to understand your selection of adjectives.

Alright, I'm a big YT-1300 fan, so I worked my way up the pilot ladder and got one. The only trouble is, there are 2 different "graphics" for the engine. One graphic is your traditional millenium falcon style-looking engine, and the other looks like a little sissy girlie engine.
The problem is, those sissy-lookin engines tend to be faster and better than my cool-looking Millenium falcon-type engine. I want to buy a crafted or re-engineered Falcon engine, but every shipwright I talk to has no idea how to make one that looks like that.
So, you shipwright guys.. what engines look like the cool engines, and what engines look like garbage on the YT? any ideas?

So your not aware of the correlation between engineproportions and the size of 'man parts'?

There's a similar problem with X-wing Engine... There are Two Shapes and just one Is "Star-wasy"... The other is ... not beautiful... well ...
does one of you know what are engine's names who are "really" UE Style ?

I believe Nubian engines give you the classic 4-exhuast look on the X-Wing, but I'm not completely sure.

loot engines until you have a set you want to re-eng.
try them all on your ship to see if they have the right look. if non of them have that, loot more. if there is one whit the right look, be sure to tell the SW to put that in to the tool first. the order of the rest dont matter.
the same aply for weapons. the laser bolt get the same color as the first weapon in the tool.
