What is the fastest top speed I can expect to see on an engine of each certification level?

Crafted? or looted? if you are asking about crafted engines... wait until pub 11.2 comes out... they are changing things around a bit.

i have a looted one myself that 92.2 or 92.4 i forget hehe...regardless...92 speed and its quite nice...but that was a loot and i assume its an ultra rare loot?

Actually, I think the 92.2 is a reward for one of the rebel missions. I'm not sure about the other factions though. I know I have heard of a lot of people getting this particular engine. It even alters the shape of your engines on the fighter when you install it.

Guess I should have clarified on the crafted vs looted. Mostly looking for stats on crafted engines but any info on looted engines is welcome too. So far highest I have looted or have seen in a vendor is one that I got from a tier 1 hutt fighter or bomber that has a top speed of 70.1 and requires level 4 certification. I am freelance so I won't be seeing that rebel quest rewardengine mentioned above anytime soon.

Fastest looted engine I've seen is 100.0. The 92.2 model isn't too rare and you can RE it down to about 8-9K mass, too, so it's probably the best overall.
As for crafted.. yeah, wait until that patch. With overdrivers, my fastest engine is an 84.4 speed Mk V, best MK IV is around 75. These are with great but not out of control resources, too, so you shouldn't expect to see much better before that update.
Oh yeah, and because the original post asked for speeds at each level: level 1, 54 speed or so; 3, 60.5; 5, 67-68; 7, 75; 9, 82-84. Those are my ranges, anyway.

2 friends on ahazi looted - one at 103 - the other at 107 - the best ive crafted is 84 mark v which completly sucks

I looted a 114 speed lvl 8 engine. Yeah it's in my a-wing. With boost my top speed is 1405. 1143 without.

Actually if you pay attention you get this from the level 3 trainer as a payout. Everyone gets this when finishing up level 3 missions. This is a one time item so people need to take care of it or it will degrade quickly.
But I agree wait for 11.2 because they are taking out the pitch, yaw, roll speeds from engines as it is based on chassis not on enging.

If you get an Imperial to give you Engine overload chips, you'll add about 300 or more speed to that.

I looted a Level 1 with a 65 top speed. I'm thinking of making a Z95/Syck kit with superior level 1 gear and renting it to trusted noobs.
