Thread: Is there any way for the devs to get the deeded ships to look like ships?

The craziness over the mini Tie Fighter and X-Wing veteran rewards have gotten my greedy little mind thinking that we'd sell an awful lot of chasses if the deeded ships looked like miniature versions. Everyone would want to collect the entire fleet! Muahahahaha!

I've felt it to be frustrating when clients come and ask what the difference between style 1 & 2 with the Dunelizard for example.
It would be great if the image would be visable when the blueprints are crafted. Can't that happen?

Great idea I hope will happen, butdropping it into yourhouse may be a problem It's a question of scale. With droids if you drop a deed it will look like that a full-size version of that robot. Full-size versions of a starship will not likely fit in a house. Perhaps a guild hall, but even then you would only be able to drop a couple. But think how cool that would be if they would let us do that!

I'd LOVE to be able to place a MP ship to live in on the ground. However, I'd be satisfied with models that are the same scale as the veteran rewards so that we could display the chasses in our shop and perhaps sell them to collectors.

Believe it or not I've seen the devs post several times on this subject (too lazy to find the link 
)
)The reason they haven't implemented this is not only because of the scale of ship vs.house...but more importantly all the models and textures that have to be downloaded for people without JTL to be able to see the ship. When you think about it, there's what...15 - 20 ships...many of which have different looking engines, weapons, boosters, texture kits, paint styles, etc... If I remember right people had to download over a hundred MBs just for the other models that came with JTL (unless you had the JTL disk with the patch already on it), just imagine how much more they'd have to download for an expansion they don't even have.
Now, I have cable internet so 100MB is nothing for me...and I'd love to see this system myself...but I can see why it's not part of the game at the moment.

I don't think we'll get this because they have implemented the model TIE and X-wing as vet rewards, what's the point of a reward if you can go to your local shipwright and he can make you one? Too bad, we've been asking for these since beta and it would be cool to have.

Agreed, so I suggest a poster/painting that has pictures of each ship. One for Imperial ships, one rebel, one private.
Maybe even a poster for each tier of pilot depending on faction.

I would be happy with the 'icon' being an example of what the ship will look like when produced instead of what we have now. There's no reason that shouldn't be a quick fix by the dev team.
