Thread: SHIPWRIGHT GUIDES AND REFERENCE MATERIAL (Includes FAQ, Guides, ROTW info and more)
Greetings Shipwrights!
I'm currently in the process of updating the shipwright FAQ and advanced links/Guides. For the FAQ I've started with a version of SSSnuggles's "Shipwright Links, FAQ (Including How to Grind Shipwright), Including Ship Pictures! [ Edited ]"
I've made some color and textural edits. I salute SSSnuggles and the rest of you shipwrights who've contributed to this community! Keep the input coming
and let me know if you find something out of place. I'll be making frequent updates over the next few days. I'll have the links in the FAQ working shortly.

Shipwright
The Basics
Can I be a Shipwright without JtL?
No. But it's worth the amusement to click on the Shipwright trainer anyway.
Where can I find a Shipwright Trainer?
Just about outside any starport. Use /find to find them (Although this points you to the wrong place sometimes, in Theed for example). Here's an rough list (if you find one not here, please PM me or post it and I'll add it):
Kadaara, Naboo (5229, 6679)
Theed, Naboo (-4841, 4184)
Keren, Naboo (1352, 2768)
Moenia, Naboo (4727, -4649)
Tyrena, Corellia (-5027, -2280)
Coronet, Corellia (-123, -4724)
How do I grind Shipwright?
Crafting Chassis takes the least amount of time. You get 1/4 xp per resource in Shipwright, and Chassis are big, very very big. Here's the breakdown:
16 Tier 0 [Z-95, TIE-LD, Syck] ships to 1000
13 Tier 1 [Y-wing, TIE-F, Dunelizard] ships to 2000
13 Tier 2 [Y-wing LP, TIE-I/N, Kihraxz/Kimogila] ships to 3000
10 Tier 3 [X-Wing, TIE-B/TIE-I, Ixiyen] ships to 4000
55 Tier 4 [A-Wing, TIE-Adv, Rihxyrk] ships to Master
Total Resources: 2.253m Steel, 581k Aluminum, 1.146m Ore, 581k Inert Petro, 539k Iron, 539k Fiberplast
Note, if you choose to do it in non practice mode you'll need 4 additional Tier 4 ships which comes to 128k steel, 64k Ore, 32k Alum/Inert Petro/Iron/Fiberplast. There is a market for both grind and master crafted high end chassis.
I hear it takes a crazy amount of resources for Chassis, how much steel could you possibly use?
Well...
Tier X [Ship types] total SUM: Steel/Ore/Aluminum/Inert Petro/Iron/Fiberplast
Tier 0 [Z-95, TIE-LD, Syck] total 5k: 2k/1k/1k/1k/0/0
Tier 1 [Y-wing, TIE-F, Dunelizard] total 13k: 5k/4k/2k/2k/0/0
Tier 2 [Y-wing LP, TIE-I/N, Kihraxz/Kimogila] total 30k: 12k/6k/3k/3k/3k/3k
Tier 3 [X-Wing, TIE-B/TIE-I, Ixiyen] total 60k: 24k/12k/6k/6k/6k/6k
Tier 4 [A-Wing, TIE-Adv, Rihxyrk] total 80k: 32k/16k/8k/8k/8k/8k
Tier 5 [Master Ships] total 150k: 70k/20k/10k/10k/10k/10k [And 10k Siliclastic Ore, 10k Copper]
The Master box doesn't need Apprenticeship xp?
That's right, it takes 200k Shipwright xp instead.
Why can't I see all my schematics?
Only Basic craftables and first tier ships can be crafted at a public station. More complex items need a Private Crafting Station or a DE created crafting droid
What does Advanced assembly do?
Advanced assembly affects capacitor and droid interface construction.

Will the new shipwright resources be rare?
All new shipwright resources are always active on at least 1 planet at any given time.

How does damage work?
Damage applies first to the Armour HP. As those goto 0 the item remains fully functional. After the Armour HP hit 0, damage is applied to the non-Armour HP. Items begin to suffer degredation at this point. When items are repaired total Armour HP and HP are reduced.

How does Reverse Engineering work?
the component analyzer looks for the optimal stat in each category and applies that to the finished item, so the item you get in return is always better than any individual components used in the process. A small bonus is applied based on the level of the items used, so you get a higher bonus if you manage to assemble 9 or 10 components, and only a marginal one when you stick a single component in.

How many components can I RE at once?
Reverse Engineering level is a 1-1 correlation to the number of components needed, so you could only use 9 or 10 items in a level 9 or 10 reverse engineering session.

What is the RE bonus at each lvl?
LVL1 1%
LVL2 2%
LVL3 2%
LVL4 3%
LVL5 3%
LVL6 4%
LVL7 4%
LVL8 5%
LVL9 6%
LVL10 6%
How do I turn this chassis blueprint into a ship?
You must talk to a Chassis Broker (an npc often found in starports) and pay him to turn your blueprint into a deed, which can then be generated (similar to a vehicle) into your datapad. This will cost: Tier 0 - 10k; Tier 1 - 15k; Tier 2 - 25k; Tier 3 - 50k; Tier 4 - ??; Master - ??;
My Ship won't generate into my datapad!
Make sure you have room in your datapad (capacity can be seen at the bottom), ensure that you don't already have 6 ships, and make sure you have a lot free if you are attempting to generate a MP ship
What can be mass produced? What can go in a factory? Why can't I schematic XXX?
You can mass produce (aka run in a factory, which means you had to make a schematic) subcomponents (all the upgrades but not the components themselves), component analysis tools, repair kis, and ammunition (chaff/missle packs).
My factory isn't working
You must be using an equipment factory, and it's likely you have to either put a new one down, or redeed it before it will accept Shipwright schematics
Can Shipwright trainers go in Player Cities?
Nope, Tiggs has said it was designed that way
What is the minimum ship requirements to be able to get to hyperspace
Any ship should be able to do it (and the minimum requirements on a ship are: A Reactor and an Engine)
When do I get each Certification lvl?
Certification 1 (x0xx Pilot)
Certification 2&3 (x1xx Pilot)
Certification 4&5 (x2xx Pilot)
Certification 6&7 (x3xx Pilot)
Certification 8 (x4xx Pilot)
Certification 9&10 (Master Pilot)
What's with Mark X vs Certification Lvl? Why are there two standards?
To allow a little more variance in looting there are double jumps at each level (each level gives you 2 certifications. Here is a handy table to explain it:
Mark I - Certification 1 (x0xx Pilot)
Mark II - Certification 3 (x1xx Pilot)
Mark III - Certification 5 (x2xx Pilot)
Mark IV - Certification 7 (x3xx Pilot)
Mark V - Certification 9 (Master Pilot)
What about weapons, they don't have Mark X?
Ya, that's a little confusing, but here is the mapping:
Mark I - Light
Mark II - Mid-Range
Mark III - Heavy
Mark IV - Advanced
Mark V - Experimental
Where is resource X? What are the stats on resource Y?
SWGCraft is your friend. Remember to post your info there too so it is useful to all
What is better higher numbers or lower numbers?
On components: Mass, Reactor Drain, Energy/Shot, Refire Rate, Consumption, and Droid Speed are better lower, everything else you want big.
How should I price my items?
You could calculate the "Credits Per Unit" of resource that it cost me to make the item.
Then decide on the profit margin you want to make depending on the quality of the item.
Add that on top of your cost to produce the item, and this is your final price.
Check the Galaxy wide vendor search on your galaxy to get an idea of the current market prices.
You'll see everything from low quality very affordable items to high quality very expensive items.
Pick your price based on the quality of your item and the amount of time you have to spend producing the items.
Chassis typically sell for much less CPU than components even though they require many more resources.

Why can't I craft the firespray?
This is a RIS like schematic, it must be earned. It seems that when you RE items you have a chance of getting a random schematic fragment (there are 8 pieces). Collect all 8, toss that into a Component Analysis Tool and out pops the Firespray schematic. The first Firespray in Live was built by caelfoth at 6:45PM MDT October 31st, on Flurry
How many uses are on the firespray schematic?
The confimed uses on Live so far are 3-6, if you get a different number, please tell me. But it is NOT infinite!
What does the firespray look like?
Here are the screenshots taken by the original firespray crafter, Himfan.
How does Reverse Engineering work exactly?
Take a Component Analysis Tool (Quality doesn't matter, that just affects the number of charges)
Take a group of looted components of the same type and level (i.e. lvl 3 weapons, or lvl 6 armour)
Put the same number of components as the level they are into the Tool (i.e. 3 lvl 3 weapons, or 6 lvl 6 armours)
Use the radial option on the tool "Analyze Components"
You will be shown a readout with the results, what it does is take the best value, from amongst the components, for each stat and then add a % bonus on top of that (% equal to the level you are RE-ing)
Rename the item

You might want to add in the grinding to master part something about making practice chassis at 10% more XP but you don't get the chassis to sell.
