Very cool. I look forward to seeing it when you've finished adding more of the options you've listed. Also, you might want to make it so mass values (and perhaps other values) can be direct entered, reason being people coming to you with a chassis already or using RE parts.
Overall, a very impressive looking tool you're working on. /salute
Be really nice if you could just say what type of compnents you want inwhat chassis(basic things, no level, no sub components yet)
Then another page saying how much more improtant some components are than others. (1-10 scale)
Then they can just hit compile and it will pop out what component stats andlevels and what sub-components would be needed to get the desired ship that optomizes the most mass and energy.
By using the theoretical max and mins of components then it should be able to produce how many EXP points would have to go into what stat. Put in a lets say 90% cap and a 15% min for the EXP stats.
Finalprint out would give a copyable list of
- Chassis (EXP points in mass and HP)
- Components (EXP points in each stat)
- Sub Components (Exp Points ineach stat)
- Total Resources used
Would take a conciderable amount of work, but would be well worth it for all Shipwrights and Pilots ![]()

ok , I have added RE Parts to the drop down so now you can enter the mass and power for the RE part you are using.
Also thanks all for the comments so far ![]()
(still pissed about the loss of me KSE firespray)
Good job though

*sigh* all you PHP people......when will you realize that Perl is king! (Call me old-fashioned, heh). Nice layout, good idea, though execution is flawed(ok, ok, that *is* my car with #!/usr/bin/perl on it, so what?)
Good job though![]()
