It seems to me that the market for ship chasis is a temporary one at best. From what I can tell, Chasis do not degrade and are therefore a one time purchase item. That being the case I would think that charging 100-200cpu is pretty reasonable being as each chasis is a one time purchase item. What are your thoughts on the matter Hobson?

I undesrtand what you are saying, but you have to realize people will be changing ships in the beginning. However the high end ones, then that would be where you would discuss this issue!!

Nuff said really....
They have HP.
When you repair the Chassis, the HP drops by 10%.
Just like every other component.

it does bring up a fundamental pricing issue, cause we can get away charging more, should we?

Right - they DO decay.
It's unfortunate that they don't have a separate "condition" and instead have overloaded the hitpoints. When you get destroyed, the hitpoints go down permanently.

I always have and always will price my goods based on the amount of time I want to spend crafting. If I price my stuff so low that I'm doing nothing but harvesting and crafting then I'm not having fun in the game, so I raise my prices until I get to a comfortable place only doing the amount of crafting that I want to do. If you price your stuff too high then you don't sell any and you need to drop your prices, it's as simple as that.
Personally not a huge issue to me if no one buys my stuff, just means more play time for me
. I became shipwright for my personal interests not to make money so my prices will be high enough to discourage getting mobbed every time I land.

Realistically, I Think the current pricing system is temporary. I honestly expected prices to be a bit higher, but at the same time how much are ppl willing to pay for any given component or chassis. Im sure as the demands for items increase and theresources or availability of those items decrease, prices are sure to have a valid reason to rise. I think now we could get away with testing the waters to see what works and what doesnt. its too early for prices to solidify at the current rates.

Hehe. Funny post since this obviously is a joke. 100-200 CPU is of course not reasonble. Everyone knows that a shipwright sells chassis only to enable the sales of components. Chassis can be built with average or even crap resources and still be acceptible. With your "reasonble pricing scheme" a master ship would cost 15-30 million credits. No, the very most I could see a master ship to sell for would be 1-1.5 million credits or thereabouts. I'm sure some will charge more and most will charge less.
I guess you can charge 100-200 cpu if you wish but I doubt you'll get any business at all.
