Thread: Shipwright pricing. Is this the new Architect problem?
I have a rep as one of the most expensive SWs on Kettemoor. I also have a rep for being worth every penny, and rarely get any crap for my pricing. On the contrary, my customers are happy to pay my 10/20cpu prices for ships/components.
the key, here, is a key to business. the aim of the business, of any business, is to make the customer value your products and services MORE then they value the credits they pay for it. If you do this, they'll pay happily. If you don't, they won't, or they'll complain. I value my time and resources and product-- that's why I price them high. I make my customers value my time and product and resources as much or more than I do-- that's why they pay me instead of someone selling for a fifth of what I do.
- Unprogramed Droid Chips
- Astromechs (Tier 1-3)
- Flight Computers (Tier 1-3)
Unprogrammed Droid Chips? 1k per, 5 for 4.5k, 25 for 22.5k
# of people selling? Not that many....
Astromechs and Flight Computers are 2k/1k * Tier. Profit? Let's just say damn good.
So I've got my 6 heavy harvies mining copper/steel/ore Just so I can grind another couple boxes on MSW.
Profits from SW? Nil. Do I mind? No. Why? Because it's more about being self-reliant than otherwise. I just can't understand why people charge much more right now. There is too much competition, cut-throat competition to come out ahead. There are too many SW grinders sitting on stocks of Tier 1-3 ships. And the prices? Most people would rather get looted components for engine/cap/booster because loot drops have more mods than any MSW can research. There are too many lines of research, and not enough research points to go around for those. What will sell? Armor, shields, weapons, reactors, and missiles. Just my $0.02.

Some were saying expect even a low level ship to run 500k, but I said a long time ago this would be pretty much like archetect, and that the grinding to reach MSW by TONS of people was going to absolutely flood the economy with chassis, causing a HUGE supply with little demand. This means little profit because you can always go to the next cheaper guy.
My solution was to not master yet
As I harvest or earn mone for resources I'll work my way farther up the tree.
