There are many other reasons for why the "too easy road to Jedi" argument does not make sense:
1) People say it is too fast without even considering what the conversion ratio should be. The conversion ratio just needs to be adjusted properly to make it in line with other professions.
2) People also seem to completely disregard the amount of resources needed. The xp per resource unit is the worst of any crafting profession. Even with a conversion ratioof5:1 you would need about 25 million units of resources for just one FS branch. And some people talk about a conversion ratio of 100:1.
3) Nobody in their right mind will ever use the FS crafting skills as a road to Jedi. They are useless for a Jedi and there are only 4 of them anyway.
It really doesn't make sense that shipwrights should not be able to get FS xp. We are the only crafting profession that is being forced to hand-craft almost everything. So we need the FS crafting bonuses more than most. At least it would let something good come out of the no-factory design decision.
Just so you know it does not matter what FS skills you have. Once you hit padawan they all disapear anyway. Do not think you will have these as a jedi. I know two who finished and thought the same way. They were upset that they wasted thier time getting what they thought would help them in Jedi. The skills are only for force sensitive. Not for jedi. You get to do real force stuff then.

not really since its gonna be on the 1st phase soon, it would be different if it was when this first came out but you can still have it after phase 2 comes out

So what it goes to first phase. Maybe I need to put it a bit easier.
1 Force Sensitive branch per phase.
1 phase every three weeks.
6 branches needed.
That means 6 phases done no matter how fast you can grind.
Phase only matters as to what skill that person teaches that 3 week cycle.
Skills set by phase so if it is repair it is repair for everyone. You have it you have to do medical or combat to get another skill that cycle.
There I think that says it all and it is all broken down for those that still think it is faster.

fyreblayd28 you said it doesn't matter what you get, becuase the skills disapear anyway.. acculy your wrong the force sencitive skills u get to unlock jedi stay with you forever. once you unlock padawain you can't drop them, and so your permintatly 24 skill pts short on your charicter.
unless something changed and i am unaware of thats what i have on my jedi charicter
Our 2 jedis lost thier force sensitive stuff and it was replaced by thier padawan skill set. I think this was done when they switched it to the character unlocking being the jedi because you use all your sp's to become a jedi knight. People that unlocked being short 24sp's would not be able to be able to finish thier templates.

Well you are wrong - or your friends are. You have to keep those FS skills even after you become Jedi Knight. Read all the faqs on the Jedi forum if you want. So yes, it does matter what FS skills you take on your road to Jedi. Probably it doesn't matter that much when you reach Knight. But the crafting skills aren't gonna help you much in the grind for Knight.

But you can make money selling jedi craftables can't you? 15.00 lightsaber crafting tools and the like, not much money, so no real argument here heh.

the reason i said that is that they can have the trees opened just slowly grinding it then use sw to grind faster cuz they have creds to burn. i have 4 branches already opened and all i would have to do is use sw to grind it and i would be done in 2 weeks cuz i have 2 trees already done because of the free trees given for exampleMessage Edited by jfarr on 11-21-2004 02:29 PM
This would be a question of conversion ratio. If the conversion ratio is high enough, SW would be a very expensive and not particulary fast way to grind Jedi.
I personally favour a 100:1 ratio.
This would give the SW something to spend their excess skill points on, but no grinder in his right mind would want to use shipwright as a fast route to Jedi.

You really need to do some math before suggesting a ratio as insane as 100:1. With that ratio it would require 490 million resources to get just one branch. If you make the ratio that high, you may as well not give shipwrights any conversion at all. With 10 heavy harvesters on an 85% spot it will take 238 days to get those resources. And that is just one branch.
