Thread: How much are elite components selling for?
And any suggestions which elite components are worth crafting and which are a waste of time?

I've just crafted my first elite (pob) components, armor and an engine. But I have no idea what to sell them for. A bazaar check indicates that no one else on my server (Shadowfire) has any elite components for sale right now.

I don't touch armor and engines since I made my first 'bunked' ones (due to the experimentation problem). I use the armor for deco since it's different looking heh. The only booster I made kind of sucked also, so I stayed away from that too.
Try for shields, reactors, weapons. Capacitors aren't bad, but haven't checked the POB versions since we got a boost on regular caps. Before they hit 1500+ energy, but now lvl9's can get there, no clue where they're at now.
Shields should hit 3500+ f/b hitpoints (at least mine do, hope they're not crap, heh).
Reactors I think I got 23k+ gen.
Weapons got 2500-3900ish with a quick-shot, 2500-4300 with a max-damage.
I charge a bit for these parts, but as I have to pay at *least* 40cpu to get anyone to mine for me, and still rarely get enough resources!

It likely takes the same number of resources to make a Ferrari or a Mustang. Generally speaking, there is a perceived "elite" value associated with the Ferrari...it is a status symbol and as such, it costs more. And why shouldn't it?
Well, not to argue the point, but a mustang is a mass produced vehicle that requires a basic level of engineering. A Ferrari is a handcrafted, well engineered and designed automobile. Yes, there is a prestige value that is attached to it, but a great deal of the cost is going into the engineering work and the hand crafting it took to bring the automobile about. Mustang frankly didn't take nearly as much work, although the pure resource costs are likely close.
But to bolster the argument even further, If there is time associated with gathering the resources then that time is worth a lot to the people doing the work, and should be reflected in the cost of the item in question. If one POB part takes close to 1500 units of one resource, then right there is one large starship cargo bay full. You'd need to make several trips to be able to "mass produce" anything, which will eat up a lot of time. These items, by nature of that beast, will be very rare. They should be expensive, but not because they are stamped as "elite" by itself, but because of the huge effort it took to gather everything needed to make one.

Way to price any asteroid resource used item is charge per CPU for the resources used + a slightly higher % mark up then normal items. Any "Elite" item sells very well and very fast reguardless. Asteroid resources sell from 100-200CPU on my server Elite items sell out of my vendors at 300k or more daily. The Elite mining lazer and Y-8 Large cargo hold i cant seem to keep in stock at 600k.
Ifyou can handleto spend hours a day farming in space...not only is it good money but it will boost the sales dramatically from word of mouth refering friends and strangers alike to your vendors.
Least it did for me....cant wait til i get my last chips an can post on trade forums thati have KSE in vendors ![]()
Either way even if you sell at the CPU cost of resources to get them in to your vendors, it will get you more customers for everything else but i wouldnt cut any lower then at the running CPU cost to make, then your just hurting yourself.

These stats should greatly improve once the problems are fixed with the schematics (i.e. calculating in resource stats that don't exist on asteroid stuff). I know it's at the top of our list. Just hope they fix it soon. People are really wanting to start using POB ship finally. I only hope they fully balance them out by adding 2nd. shield / armor slots before even thinking of plopping in capital ships.
But in reply to a previous post in this thread - yeah, elite shields do come out great! Weapons aren't bad either. Can get about 4300 max dmg and still have points to bring down the refire rate to around .330.
