Some quick info, while these schematics all require Space Resources, alot of people are wondering, "How do I make the tools to mine astroids, if I need resources from an astroid to make the tools?"

The answer is simple: You will get basic tools by starting the Space Mining Quest, on Kasshyyk.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing fancy, just the info I wrote down straight from my Starship Crafting Tool. Figured someone might want/need it, so here it is:

I'll try and make it easy to sort out, regular resources are in Green, new Space resources are in Yellow.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my efforts to gather as much info together in one place as possible, here are the locations and number of waypoints for each type of Astroid resource, as gathered by zarko669.

Cyanomethanic Asteroid - Yavin IV - 3 waypoints
Petrochem Asteroid - Yavin IV - 2 waypoints
Acid Asteroid - Dantooine - 2 waypoints
Methane Asteroid - Dantooine - 2 waypoints
Crystal Asteroid - Dathomir - 3 waypoints
Silicaceous Asteroid - Corellia/Talus - 4 waypoints
Iron Asteroid - Corellia/Talus - 1 waypoint
- Tatooine - 5 waypoints
Ice Asteroid - Endor - 3 waypoints
Obsidian Asteroid - Lok - 3 waypoints
Organometallic Asteroid - Lok - 2 waypoints
Sulfuric Asteroid - Naboo/Rori - 3 waypoints
Carbonaceous Asteroid - Naboo/Rori - 2 waypoints

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: Mining Lasers are good, a Tractor Beam is MUCH better.

I run a X-wing fitted with a Tractor Beam, a MkIII Mining Laser, and a Blaster cannon. Even Tier 4 enemies are no real problem for my blaster and mining laser (I run Weapon Overload 3), and the Tractor Beam makes gathering about x2 faster. KNOWN BUG: Astroid chunks that reach the edge of a zone map become invulnerable! (any X,Y,Z coordinate of 8000 or -8000) LEAVE THEM! return to the main astroid and start over!

My guess is that the winglets are the "extra" sidwings they're putting on some of the ships, cargo hold would be for spacemining I would guess.

Once RotW is released you will be able to take a mission on Kasshyyyk for mining in space, as part of this mission you will be given some second-hand equipement.

Or at least that is the info I have been able to find. I am a Master Shipwright with a decent stock of resources waiting and raring to go, Come the 5th, once my Digital Download is done, I'll know more.

refleks, my guess is that the Winglets and Side Strakes are to allow existing ships to be modified into the Heavy variants. As for the cargo Holds, you are dead on the money.

The same way you level marksman when it requires a weapon lol. You talk to someone on kasshyyyk and they will give you some low lvl gear to get started, then you can take your resources to a friendly shipwright in order to get better equipment crafted.
