Thread: MaskScent, another Voice in the Wilderness
I agree with many of the posters here,
I would rather have MaskSense operating with little or absolutely no xp than to have a 60 second timer.
A timer of this duration makes this skill utterly useless.
Utterly.
IN terms of being detected by critters there reallybecomes no difference whatsoever between one who has Explore IV and one who has no scout skills at all...
Is that the intention?
I for one DO believe the xp gain on /MaskScent was way over the top.
I also used that to gather 30,000 scout experience points in one run to Yavin IV,
a most beautiful, hell run.
This is now completely ruled out.
But,
so is the ability of a scout to venture into uncharte, VERY dangerous areas,
Hell,
even moderately dangerous areas become made virtualy off limit.
We have speed, but... Not the ability to blend into the environment, not when failures occur So very often,
so what then is the Designers intention for this Profession?
How does this new change reflect what was originaly in mind for the role of the Scout?
If MaskScent was given to us to allow the exploration of the great unknown,
how then does this change further that goal?
If the change is to prevent an obvious exploit...
well...
Remove the offense,
as it stands now xp gain is totaly irrelevant, so...
remove the xp and restore the ability,
60 seconds is far, far to long,
even,
in a galaxy far, far away.
