Ok...i see everyone complaining about the 60 second delay for mask scent when you're detected. This is not my problem cuz i just got the skill recently. My gripe is i see posts about people using mask scent against kreetles (on tatooine) and getting around 100 scout XP per kreetle. I go out and try this. Before i near the kreetle lair, I bust out my mask scent. Everytime i get close to a kreetle, I get a message that says "You receive 1 point of Scouting Experience." **edit**?!?! It seems as if i get ONE xp point for every kreetle i detect. i desperately need help cuz i'm tryin to be a creature handler and i need Scout XP like crazy...

I also read that if you shoot at the kreetle and not get detected...that's another bunch of XP. I tried that and i didn't get detected and i didn't even get any experience points. Can you please tell me how to approach kreetles the right way or anything else that might help?

ok, I am a n00b, so I cant guarantee the accuracy of my info...but here goes. As far as my experience has shown, your level relative to the monsters level matters a LOT...when I first got Maskscent, I tried against a few Kreetles and got 101 exp for each successful "hide"....then I raised another skill and it dropped to 13 points for each "hide". I dont think there is a scout bonus for fighting while Masked...at least I never noticed any in the numerous fights I was in, in that state. Alas, you simply have to get a successful hide against mobs that are at least your level or greater to get any good exp...the highest I have gotten so far was 228...on the bright side, you get exp not only for entering their field of sight, but also on leaving it (albeit, less) hope this helps, and if I am wrong on anything, I am sure the others out there will correct me

I have the same questions but I have not seen even 1 xp yet from using maskscent. I am around creatures with maskscnet on and it either wears off or I get detected. I am only at advanced, but I'd like to know if it is working at all.

I think mask scent depends on how easy the creature is. My highest skill is expert two-hand which makes kreetles 1 hit kills for me. Is this why i'm only getting 1 scouting XP w/ mask scent on per kreetle? I need to know before I go on to Lok and die...

the skill has to be used against aggressive mobs to award experience, and even then, it will fail a LOT
