Thread: Newbie droid/probot question...
Been reading alot of people posting about droids/probots. I'm just curious what these are, how you go about getting one, how much to plan to spend on one, etc.

Probots are attack droids. They resemble the probe droids from Empire.
They are useful in so far as they are able to take some of the heat off of you in battle. You can use them as an effective means of "pulling" creatures or NPCs at you, or in guarding you while you're taking out a lair.
They were immensly powerful, but have been nerfed back to a reasonable level. They take while to repair after being damaged, but you can camp and increase that rate. This is the only way I've seen that increases their regen rates.
I have a fairly good probot. His name is Lipton. Besides being a pain in the ass, we've been through a lot together. Lots of Fambaas and he's even met the Emperor.
I purcashed him through a Droid Engineer. They are fairly common now. Mine's name was Itsy, and I ran into him in a starport on Corellia.
The going rate appears to be about 15k for the lowest level bot, with HAMs in the 1000s and an attack of about 120-200 and resistences in the 20%. Mine was 30k with resistences in the 40%. The rates are probably lower now, due to their significant nerfage they experienced.
