Thread: Here's how to make Camping and Sampling more FUN.
They need to add a fun and informative aspect to camping. When camping, how about adding a multiple choice game wherein you open a datapad and answer multiple choice questions about various wildlife for Survival XP. It could get progressively more difficult as you go along.
Pop open a datapad screen, there's a picture of some creature.
"This creature is a: a) Gnort b) Nuna c) Correllian Butterfly d) Vrek"
As it got harder:
Up pops a picture of a Bantha: "This creature hunts in packs a)True b) False
Any XP you got for answering correctly would be in addition to the base XP you get from a camp. And it could only be done in camps.
Adding a minigamemight sound like something of a departure for what we've seen in the game so far, but it would be fun and informative. It would also give people an incentive to travel and see the wildlife on different planets.
They should also do something like this for survey sampling. Sampling shouldn't mean staring at your character for an hour and a half (that's why everyone macros). Keep it entertaining. The character kneels to begin sampling and a datapad pops open. He starts playing a find-the-mineral type game, like Tetris. The better he does at the game, the more resources he harvests.
These additions would put an end to the XP whining and afk macroing.
Whaddya think?
I love the idea. Tetris and Gems style games are very easy to program. They would even fit in the universe IMO, because they have computers. After all, what are computers used for if not games? ![]()
DAOC had a built in card game. It was kinda fun, but cumbersome to use. Still, if the developers would provide little things like that, we can make the games up ourselves. Something like a simple spreadsheet that everyone in a group could see for keeping score, along with the dice already in game, and we could be playing Yahtzee.
Ah yes, the casinos. I absolutely love stuff like that.
We gotta stop thinking of MMO's as "games," and start thinking of them as analternate reality...and what's reality with out games? ![]()
Well, we don't HAVE to. Oh, and I too read books or watch movies while sitting in camps. However, I'm awfully envious of my neighbors who have artisan skills, but I absolutely refuse to be that diversely skilled. As it is, I'm only working on four skill trees. Still, they get to do something while sitting there and all I can really do is forage...and emote.
One of the Ranger camps should include an arcade tent. ![]()

Xy,
You need to grab an enterainer friend with you - preferably a hot Twi'Lek (I've got a thing for Lekku). I do this often, and it makes my lift in the field much, much more enjoyable (love ya Daria!).

Xy,
I always have a book next to my chair for the boring times. Although yesterday the new Playboy came, so that was convenient. ![]()
There will be gambling in the game, coming in the next update if the "in dev" notes are still accurate. So that'll be a good way for chancers like me to maybe turn an extra 20k into nothing.
