Thread: Track creatures idea
Was curious what everyone thought about this idea:
In the hunting tree of scout and bioscience of ranger, every time you level up in those branches, a scout/ranger is allowed to 'store' data on creatures they hunt frequently. The harder the creature, the more kills are needed in order to store the data. The higher you are in the tree, the more creature info you can store, similar to creature handlers and pet storage.
When you go out on an explorer mission, (dire cats on Corellia, for example), in order to help find the beasties, you use the information in your datapad (by clicking on it) to help you track down the creature. Scout exp would be given to you, like maskscent does (or did before patch..hehe)
Thoughts?
Guys,
This was something I brought up with the Scout dev as a possible Master Scout/Ranger ability. They are looking into it.

would make perfect sense as scout flows into bounty hunter and ranger. Rangers would of course get an upgraded version of this skill, as the level.
Let's take this a step further, literally. For the tracking missions, why not give us the ability to track the animals based on scent, footprints, etc? Might be tough to implement, but there was a game called Deer Hunter that when you went out into the woods, you would find deer tracks and deer droppings. From there you could track the deer down and kill it.
Now, on that thought, I would hate to find a pile of Giant Torton droppings or flaming Krayyt Dragon do-do.
