So I get to my orchard of medium mineral extractors and dont you know there's a pack of Giant Carrion Spats parked near it. I've never tangled with them before so I maskscent (no idea if it helped me or not) and start sneaking up to my units.

Don't you know, one detects me and begins to attack. I'm not sure if I can take it or not so I begin to run away, which of course is not helping me because this thing is faster and right behind me, pecking away.

Well, if I'm gonna go down, I'm gonna go down swinging, so I turn and wield my 2 handed cleaver. This spat's opening up a can of whoopass on me, it's only a matter of time.

Next thing I know, three Sharnaffs come charging into the picture and start wigging on the Spat. It seems that as I ran blindly in terror, I ran right into the middle of a Sharnaff herd. And apparently, Sharnaffs and Spats are not on speaking terms.

The Sharnaffs wail, the Giant Carrion Spat drops and I live to fight another day.

I never thought about this before, but its possible for to use critters as a defense.

yes it is, i have run through a pack of yellows on purpose before and usually the red will attack the yellows of vice versa....i usually take off then because if i am running it would not bode well for me to stick around and let it know i am around again.

I think it depends on the creature. I once a had a female narglatch chasing me, ran by a gungan fambaa, and the fambaa made quick work of the narglatch.

This also works for CorSec Troopers (Corellia).

I was having fun attacking some Butterfly Workers/Defenders/Worriors. I'd attack them then run back to where some troopers were stading. They had a camp there. And they all helped me take out these buggers. I was getting some great xp from them even though they were helping me.

When I was working my marksman skills up, I would get very happy when I'd find a group of red NPCs (red con and aggressive both) near a group of yellow (non-aggresive) Npc (eg: Corsec.. gotta love em). Take a few shots, keep shooting till they get too close, run back towards Corsec, saved. Big xp.

On Corellia, I've found carrion spats, corellian butterflies, (didn't know about sharnaffs) will help you when you're in trouble.

Maybe eventually someone can come up with a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with a list of helpful animals?
