I believe an essential ability all scouts should have is the equivalent ability of artisans to surveying...creature/character tracking. There could be a new skill that increases with level of scout/ranger, etc. that gives an increased chance of successfully tracking down a specified creature/character. This could be identical to the artisan's survey ability, without requiring a tool. It could take time & mind/action, and could yield a direction to the highest concentration, etc. If the scout is supposed to be knowledgeable about creatures, why not be capable of locating them more efficiently than running around aimlessly for hours hoping to find a specific creature.

Are we talking about adding surveying to the Scout Tree (i.e. making survey 1-4 a prerequisite for master scout).

If that's the case then my response is no, No, NO.

1. Surveying is part of the Artisian Tree. We all have the ability to use the survey tool. If we want to improve our skills, get novice artisan and start working the survey branch.

2. It would increase the number of branches in the tree from 4 to 5. Master Scout takes long enough withouut a 25% increase.

If I have mis-understood the proposal please excuse me and ignore.

What this proposal is all about is adding a skill to the Hunting line - tracking. It would operate like /maskscent or /forage. Something like /tracking. It would give you a screen similiar to the survey screen, with different types of creatures and lairs placed on the map so you could find things easily- you wouldn't have to hunt around trying to figure out where the Fambaas are. As a high level scout, you could track them.


Whether or not this is even possible with the spawn system the game currently uses isa question for the developers. But that's the point. And as Scouting is a novice profession, there aren't any non-scout prerequisites for it, or for any of the other novice professions. So that option should be off the table.

good point idd. Sometimes I search bantas or sth and can't find one. then I think joy is this exploring? Okay burstran is fast but you can't run that far O_o
