Thread: Harvesting Worthwhile?

I am looking for a tradeskill-ish niche, without actually making anything. Is there a demand for harvested goods that are brought into town and sold? Or can people set up big machine harvesters to get everything.

Bones, Hide and Meat come from Scouts. There aren't any machines for these. However, almost everybody who needs these items have basic scout skills. Still, if you sell large quantities of Hide at around 3 credits ea. then you can actually make decent cash. Also, high quality hide will sell much higher than that.

Medics need meats (some items require specific meat, like Carnivore Meat). They can also use bone and hide for some organic components. However, they can get these organic components from harvesters (wheat and such).

Tailors and Armorsmiths, i believe, use hide and bone. Tailors almost exclusively need hide for clothing. Not sure about Armorsmiths, but I know they need bone for the bone armor.

I'm sure there are other professions that require Scout harvested items, but I think you get the picture. Hope this helps.

Jabu,

Harvesting is only possible by killing creatures.

There is a good market out there, especially for higher end and specialty hides. As we get more armorsmiths and smugglers, the market will only increase.

You can't use a machine to harvest, although I consider myself to be a harvesting machine.
