Here is a suggestion for Dev.

Scouts are the First in mastering the Wilds continued on with Rangers and Creature Handlers.

Well as they spend so much time out in the wild they should have a basic med skill.

This is based all the people complaining about pets in the med centers.

I Suggest that Master scouts should be able to make and use something along the Lines of a stim pack A, only thing as they are not Medics they don't get medical or chem experience. After all scouts can forage half the components for it, and if you look at real Military scout training they have basic first aid that this would be equivilent to.

a possible survival skill. what do you think delta? foraging for medicinal herbs and making compacts and broths, etc. to cure wounds maybe? that would be nice tough it should probably be a ranger skill. kind of like aragorn from LOTR, but it is a fitting skill for those advanced scouts known as rangers.

Tela,

Well, we kinda can do that already. /forage does provide stuff that gives temporary buffs and heals to our stats.

And for the healing, well...that's why I've got novice medic. I think I'd have a hard time justifying to the Devs giving us a skill that infringes on another profession that much - especially when its pretty darn easy to just go and get it ourselves.

you are definately correct and i do not want to take away from anyone (imagine the flaming posts in the forums!). i have medic too, but will need to drop it once i get along in my ranger and rifleman lines. what foraged foods provide healing? all i can see is temporary buffs. i have most of my info from this page here: http://www.swgcenter.com/PointSystem/PS_Items.asp?ItemType=Consumable

let me know what you got

Teh solution is already in the game - get novice med (only costs 100cr).

I know novice takesup 15 skill points but that's the point of it. Oart of the game's allure is thatone has to set up a strategyfor using skill points. This is only one of the challenges set up by the game in order to do well (notice I talk about 'doing well" and not winning, this is truly a zero sum game).

I think that as a community we shouldn't try to get the DEV's to make things 'easier' but rather we shoukld strive for a sense of 'balance'. By balance, I mean gaming elements should be evaluated in terms of providing an equal preportion of challange vs. reward.

In this sense 'giving' the novice scout novice med abilities is out of balance the challange (managing your skill points) is reduced (it is easier) and the reward is increased (it would make getting master scout out of balance) and I don't see where things are too much out of balance in the scot tree).

Thanks

JJ

Tel,

I'll check on the foraged stuff. I seem to recall that there is some stuff out there, but then again, I may be talking out of my ass. That might be something we can get...foraged items that work like stims.

JJ,

Exactly my point. There are things about Scouting and the game that are SUPPOSED to take a long time. Once you hit all of your goals, its kinda hard to keep having fun, unless you are a self-motivator like me.
