Thread: traps against high level creatures
Maybe something to add on the weekly issue list:
traps do not work against high level creatures: I'm a master scout, and I was fighting an enraged kimozilla last night (level 125 creature). I threw 10 traps at it: all of them failed.
The traps are especially usefull against high level creatures: I usually don't bother using them unless I'm fighting at least a level 30+ mob.
I agree that the chance of thetrap working should decrease thehighest the creature is but the decrease shouldn't go belowa minimum chance (20% maybe?).
Super,
It depends on the trap, as well. I would've kept throwing. I've taken down the toughest mobs on Naboo (Fambaas and Falumpsets) and been able to with traps.
But I will ask the Devs what factors go into a successful trap.

But those mobs are level 25-30 if I recall correctly. I have usually 50-75% trap success rates against those.
I probably would have tried throwing a few more if I hadn't died
(stupid kimozilla ran away into a camp of pirates who started shooting at my pets, which then attacked the pirates and the kimo was suddenly free to come run at me: 2 whacks from it and i was backat the cloning facility).
Endaro
End,
The two Ranger traps probably wouldn't work either. ![]()
I've not had a whole heck of a lot of luck with them, and I'm a Trap Master.

Ragner trapsdon't work, I'm told. At all, according to some, and certainly not in the area effect fashion I believethey're supposed to function.
Name,
They do work. But it's rare - about as rare as finding me dancing in a Cantina in my underpants.
Although I know there are screenshots out there somewhere....

Was that you?! If I had known, I'd have tipped better. ![]()
I don't buy the "only ranger traps should work against high levels mobs" argument.
I attacked another Kimogilla last night, and guess what: all my marksman special attack worked as usual. And marksman is a base profession. So I don't see why using some base profession skills should make any difference.
Either all traps fail against high level mobs, or they all work (ranger or scout)
And making them all fail doesn't make sense since other attacks (specials ranged or melee attack) work just fine: I can make the Kimogilla bleed without problem, he can be stun or dizzied by my lvl 27 pet without problems (even though the kimogilla was lvl 90).
So I think traps failing on high level mobs is a bug, not a feature.
That's a good point.
Then again, rifleman/pistoleer/carbineer don't have the content issues that Rangers have, either. Giving them something that makes them more attractive can't hurt.
