Thread: New Camp option, PickUp?
I have never seen this new option 'Pickup', is it new?
What does it do?
Do I get XP for doing it?
good - it's not just me seeing that...
I think it's a bug - i clicked it, and the control panel disappeared, the camp didn't, i got no xp, and i can't place another camp...
So, either it shouldn't be there, or it's broken
I've /bugged it and also filed a csr report
Although, being a novice ranger grinding up wilderness survival, this bug led to a rare and welcome chuckle today as I returned to SWG after the latest timer *ding* to glimpse someone hightailing it away from my mysteriously chairless camp. He nicked my chairs, proclaimed himself the "great lawnchair bandit," cackled, did a happy dance, and fled.
It's moments like this remind me just why this game is so much fun. Surreal weirdness rocks.

The next question to be asked is will they be able to steal the chairs while you're sitting on them

The lawn chairs and camp interface can indeed be picked up - they go into your inventory.
The interface can still be used from your inventory, and functions normally - you can still disband your camp.
Note: Once you disband your camp, all items you picked up from the camp dissapear (even if you placed them in a container).
What I am concerned about is wether or not another player can pick up your camp interface - therefore preventing you from disbanding the camp. However, I seem to recall that camps have an auto-disband after a certain time limit.

Silver,
You can pick them up when people are sitting in 'em.
This is very, very amusing.

DeltaXi65,
It is possible for other players to pick up your Camp Interface and therefore prevent you from disbanding the camp. As a result, you will then not be able to set up another camp until the first auto-disbands (a significant wait for this to happen is possible). I
Therefore, this is a possible avenue to grief the camp's scout. As I cannot see any valid reason for this 'Pick Up' function existing, I'd strongly recommend investigating the possibility of removing the 'pick up'functionfrom the camp interface.
In the interim, I also strongly recommend that scouts pick up their interface as soon as they set up camp, to prevent others from doing so.

I saw this "pick-up" function right away and assumed it was a covert action for scouts to hide their location and or identity. I'm not sure if others can read your camp stats, but this is how I pictured it....
If a camp location is made from a player who is wanted or part of a hunted faction, picking the camp sign up would eliminate their ability to track them to that camp, etc. It would be great to be able to leave the camp and get extra time before disbanding it remotely, but, my camps seem to auto-disband shortly after I leave them.
Chekula
Star,
You are right, and I will forward this to the devs in my email tomorrow.
I suggest that you all pickup your terminals if you have a reason to think griefers are about.
