Thread: How to use probots?

I can't find out for the life of me how to use my probot... Whatever I ask him to do, he says '?'.

How do you program it to attack your targets? Do you need some skills?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yer, it took me a while to figure it out too - mainly cos i hadnt read the manual! You need to train it first, so that when you speak to it, it will obey your commands. Read up in the manual where it talks about training pets - the same method applies to your droid.

Songe,

This is pretty simple.

Pull out your bot. Go to "Train". Click on the thing you want him to do. I little "?" will raise up over his head. Then you say what you want him to associate that command with with his name. For example:

1.) Select "attack".

2.) Say "Buckethead stomp him"

Then you'll see a little "!" raise up over him. That way you know he's got it. Remember that the commands are case sensitive.

Once you train Buckethead with 4 different, non-associated commands (say attack, follow, group, and wedge formation) Buckethead will finally realize that his name is Buckethead and it will change. Then you can reprogram him again (if you want) to get rid of having to type his name up front.

And that's all she wrote.

Or you write up some macros eg
/say whistler attack
/say whistler group
/say whistler follow etc etc.
Drag the icon for each macro into the toolbar (I have them in the second row when I call my probot). Then when you're in combat instead of stopping to type a command you just target the next critter, click the icon and away you go again.

After checking again, I don't get the train option, and it shows as non tamable. Did I just waste my money?

Also, how do you recognize when you buy one if it is tamable or not?

Yoy should get the Tame option on the deed, but when you call it from your datapad, you select "Program" from the radial as it's computer based equipment, not "Train" which is organic based.
Select the command from the Program menu then type in what you want the trigger to be eg Attack could be "Kill".Putting a name in front of the trigger command will teach the droid it's name and when you program the 4th command, the penny drops and it has a (Name)? thought ballon.

Songe,

You've first got to call him out, using the deed. Then he'll show up on your datapad. From there, call him from the Datapad. There should be an option to train him from there.

If not, he may be bugged. Log and try it again.

You don't need to worry about taming bots, only creatures. You have to be at least a novice creature handler to be able to use creature pets.

I have a question as well. I noticed that my probot has a inventory, but I cant seem to put anything in him. Is his inventory only for special bot stuff? Like power ups and such. If so Can I buy one to make him faster please! I keep my bot stored because he is so darn slow.
