Thread: General Game Reflections
I have noticed some changes since becoming a Master Scout:
1 - Apprecticeship Points: I seem to be getting many /tells from people to get Scout training since I became a Master. I could barely get a second look with a Novice tag, now I am getting offers of credits for training. I am not going to turn anyone down at this point since I don't want to go through the same grind at Master Ranger. Just remember, that Novice Scout standing by the Mission Term might just be at 4-4-4-4 and is waiting on you for the AXP to make Master.
2 - CH problems: I was out last night working on my Scout XP for Ranger, when a CH happened upon the family of Kaadu that I was using to eet this goal. Without a "Hi" or "Can I join you" or an "F Off", this "person" unleashed his/her hoarde on the very creatures I was hunting. I let them know that I was using this lair and if they could move along. Of course I go the obligatory " !@$%^&* scouts think they own every lair!!!! " Now, I know that it doesn't actually have my name on it and I didn't pay for it and I wasn't on a mission, but just out of common courtesy and respect for others this "person" could have stopped, looked at all of the corpses on the ground and understood that I was indeed at work on this lair for some time. What am I getting at, you ask? I reflect back on why I chose my path as a Ranger and not the flavor of the month CH path. And I wanted to rant a bit about this since it has happened to me several times. ![]()
3 - Rifle Penalties:I have been a Rfile user since day one of my existance in SWG. I have learned to live with it's many inbalances in the hopes that some day the Devs will figure out why Riflemen are so disgruntled. I guess I don't understand why it is so hard to explain to a Dev that the Rifle is only marginally better at, say, +50 m than a Pistol, buta Pistol is far superior than a Rifle at 0-5 m. I know that the mind damage can't be healed like Action and Health, but all a target needs to do is get in your face and beat you down with a Pistol or with Melee damage and you will be history. I would like to see soem small changes to Rfile that involved some better sneaking techniques such as when in Cover and/or using Conceal shot that your "dot" on the radar is invisible to your target ( more PVP ). I don't think that the Rifle close range penalty should be changed, but the Pistol shouls have a huge increase ib penalty or be made with a max range of 50 meters or so.
4 - Bows: I think that Bows would be an awesome compliment to the "Silent Killer" that Rangers can become. I know that many people will scream about how this is SWG and that bows can emain in other MMORPGs and have no place here. I feel that they could be implemented with some restrictions like they can't hit through armor ( non-PVP weapon only ), they used the Rifle tree although they have less or no penalty at closer ranges and they could ( out on a limb ) be used as a Melee-type weapon. The picture of a Ranger ( or Scout ) sneaking and crawling thier way up to thier prey and then unleashing an arrow with no noise could leave a creature stunned and unknowing of where it's predator is for even longer than a noisy rifle.
Anyway, I thought I would throw that out for discussion or flaming or whatever. I know that number 4 is extreme, but I just thought that it would be the ultimate in stealth
Please, comment or include your own ideas and reflections of the game.
Now now, no fair focusing on CHs for number 2.
I have had this same thing happen to me (usually when im killing swoopers and such) andits beenBHs and all sorts of other professions.(btw not singling out BHs or anything, that just happens to be the last one that did it) The rude behavior spawns behind the other puter screen, not in the game. ![]()

aspiring to be Master Scout...maybe Ranger one day
Scout,
The things you've listed are all legitimate gripes.
1.) AXP isn't that hard, if you focus on it while you are working on levelling. AXP is like air and sex - you never notice it until you ain't gettin' any. Always be on the lookout for opportunities to train others. I never had problems with AXP, but I also started the game on the first full day, and there were very few "masters" and lots of mid level players to train.
2.) CHs and other jackasses. This is just a problem with the internet. The differences in age between players (and also maturity) causes all kinds of problems. But as of this week, most of the kiddies will be in school andI think we'll see an increase in maturity. The internet is like the miracle grow for the guts of losers - they'd never be the kinds of jerks they are in-game in real life, but being able to hide behind their character or their screen turns wimps into tough guys.
3.) Rifle issues. I agree that the rifle needs a bit of work - namely it's own KD move to balance with the Pistoleers and others. But hey - we chose rifling for a reason, and we can hit harder than almost any other weapon in the game. I expect that we'll see this even out over time.
4.) Bow's would be interesting, but they're kinda low on the totem pole now. I could definitely go for them as a Ranger perk.

Poaching as I call it has been addressed before. You might want to check out:

AS mentioned in the above thread we all want to follow the golden rule. We respect the game play of other and expect others to respect ours. As usual, a problem occurs when you encounter a player whose object of game play to to ruin the game play of others. I think that in especially blatant cases it is ligimate to grief the individuals. See the following for an example:

hehe. #2 on that list is why I loved games like Shadowbane.
It's amazing how much more polite the average gamer is when he realizes that at any moment, you may just have to kill him ![]()
Xy,
You know I love you. ![]()
And while being a CH doesn't automatically put you in the jackass category...it's a good start. ![]()

I don't think there are enough monkeys in the world to do that Bristol. At least in Delta's mind.
ILiado Master Scout/Novice Ranger, Tyrena, Valcyn
Bristol,
That's a good question. I've never really thought about it.
I would have to say something in the area of leventy-billion. ![]()
Actually, it's not that hard. Just post on the Scout boards and be entertaining and not whiny. You and Xy, and the others already qualify.
It's the other 57,024,347,933,123,432,901 CHs that are the problem.

ch's are so touchy. I'm prolly gonna go down that line, but every time I see a ch dissed on I nod my head and smile, knowing its prolly true. I'll do the same when I do eventually make ch. I think you guys just need to settle down a little bit. jack asses

CHs and "OTHER" jackasses? hmm... ![]()
I think the best thing you can do is remember his name. Black list him within your guild, if you have one. Put his name on your server's message board. Then wash your hands of the situation.
We all have to realize that richard-craniums will be what they are, regardless of the class. It's how we react that makes the difference.
oh, btw...BEING A CH DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY MAKE YOU A JACKASS!!
That is all.
