Thread: Credit card rejected, but due to system problems.

Hi fellow scouts!


I'm not a happy camper. My account expired so I tried to re-open it but I keep getting a message that says "Credit card rejected, but due to system problems." Can someone please tell me if they have had a similar experience? Is it possible that SWG is losing players simply because they can't make a payment even when they REALLY want to??????


Devs? Anyone?


Please help.


(In case you are wondering - I have 2 accounts.But my main character, the irrepressible Nephele, is on theclosed account!)

(I'm posting here because you guys are always really positive and think constructivly about solutions - I've also posted on other forums though...)

This happened to me last night. I do not have 2 accounts like you and support wasnt open, so I was MAD.


Having these forums only open toactive, registerd accounts is stupid, my exp last night was a perfect example. Icouldn't go into forums (god THAT made me MAD), and live support was closed. How thenwas I supposed toget ahold of some support? I couldn't.


I ended up using a difference credit card, it worked.Trust me tho, the problem is on SOE's side. I used the same credit card that night to pay for dinner, it worked fine.

Then this is a major problem for me! I only have one credit card! icky icky poo! Now what do I do?

Try posting this in the support forum. I did a search last night and came up dry so I think its a pretty recent problem.


Also try really hard to get ahold of an in-game dev with your working account?


afaik phone support is closed for today as of just an hour or so ago... freakin lame.

Unfortunately, My other account is at my Dad's house. I hooked it up there so that we could play together.... Kinda a father-daughter thing..... I wish they lived closer, but it's a hour away!

Hi Nephele,


Can't help with the credit card thing, but accounts are not machine based. It doesn't matter that your other account is on your dad's machine. When the login screen comes up just type in the new username and password. You will be playing your dad's character but will be able to enter the game and look for a dev. Maybe try the chat room first.

Man...this is a crappy problem to have.


I wish I could be of more assistance to you, but I don't know how to be. Hopefully SOE gets this resolved quickly. I don't want my Scouts not being about to Scout because of crappy RL issues.


There are enough in game issues for us to worry about.

I had this problem several weeks ago, so it isn't new. I talked to Soe via the online support chat and found out it has something to do with the type of credit card. Evidently, they clear charges thru different sources depending on what type of credit card it is.

I had a GM Mastercard rejected with this error, but a Citibank Visa worked fine. Since this is not all over the Tech Support boards, maybe it's a pretty intermittant problem and just waiting a few hours will allow you to use the rejected card.

BTW, I have found the online chat tech support to be a good way to contact SOE. I have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be connected to a support person. Then again, maybe I have just been lucky
