Thread: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT MASKSCENT IS CURRENTLY BUGGED
Guys,
I don't know how many more times I can say it. 
Maskscent is bugged - for high level Scouts/Rangers, it will rarely (if ever) break and you will not get any XP.
For lower levels Scouts, it continues to break on yellows and gets them killed constantly.
I'm hoping that with the Ranger/Scout updates coming out soon that these issues will be addressed.
Please, please, please, don't post any more questions about Maskscent.

Any feedback on when we should expect them to fix this?
I am less concerned with the xp (although that is an issue) then I am with not knowing when maskscent is broken by a mob.

I don't have an official ETA, but I am hoping that this will be addressed when the other Scout/Ranger issues are updated this week (when the current Test Center patch goes live).

Mask Scent broke on me last night twice, I was in shock since it hasn't done it since the patch.
Yeah, something changed last night. Being masked no longer means being invisible, I fear. To be honest, I liked it as it was. Since I never got any XP from it anyway, at least it was useful.

Okay, I am a Novice Ranger with 1-0-1-0. On Saturday night, I experience my first encounter with Maskscent not working. I saw a SliceHound baby that I could attempt to tame. I got no closer than 63M from it when a Male who was looking the other direction jumped up and ran me down and killed me.
Tonight (Monday), I saw a baby Wrix in the middle of a group of Mottled Wrixes. Since I needed a quick way to get back to town, I was 6500 away from Dearic on Talus, I applied Maskscent and went in. To my surprise, I crawled right past 2 Mottled Wrixes and got the baby. About 40 minutes later, I found a Grand Wrix baby. I attempted to tame this one also, which included me crawling around in the middle of 2 Mottled Wrixes and a baby Mottled Wrix formore 10 minutes. I got the baby on the 7th try, and crawled out of the area.
Maskscent appeared to be working tonight much like it used to work. I didn't get any XP from it, but I did accomplish my goal.
And by the way, before last weekend, I had gotten XP from Maskscent since the Patch. I was near a bunch of Violent Khabu (sp?), and got 50 points off of one of them. I was only 45M away from it also.
Hope things get to working soon, but in the mean time, I will just have fun.

Heh...I was about to make a post asking whether or not Mask Scent was broken or not, but then I saw this post. I guess this would explain that despite being 3/1/4/1 in ranger I get attacked by sycks and mutant womp ratsthat are 50m awayeven though it still says my mask scent is on. Or is this a different issue?
