Thread: KNOWN SCOUT BUGS/ISSUES PLEASE CHECK HERE BEFORE POSTING A BUG
Scouts,
In an effort to consolidate all of the information that we have been posting regarding bugs within the Scout trees, please use this thread to notify the community of bugs.
Please follow the format thatI have developed here. Also, please read the whole list and verify that the bug you are reporting has not been reported before. We are all well aware of the issues with maskscent, etc. so we don't need a bazillion posts saying "Me too". Let's keep this as concise and clean as possible, so that the Devs don't have to sift through a million posts to figure out what needs to be fixed.
This is also NOT the place for new ideas. If you want to throw out a new idea for a new Scout skill, post it in a seperate thread. This one is for BUGS only.

Issue:
Issue: Maskscent
Summary:For low level scouts, maskscent is breaking and creatures are aggroing on them constantly. They are not receiving any XP, nor are they receiving any spam saying that maskscent has been broken.
For high level scouts, maskscent is never breaking. They are not receiving any XP.
Temp. Solution:Low levels scouts should not use maskscent. High level scouts should use it as before.

Issue:Forage
Summary:When Master Scouts use forage, they cannot forage more than two items at a time. A successful three item forage results in the message "Your inventory is full" even if it is not.
Temp. Solution:Continuing foraging until you receive one or two items.

Issue:Harvesting
Summary:Sometimes during harvesting you will get a spam that says "You cannot harvest <animal> in your current state". If this is done more than once or twice, you cannot harvest the animal at all and you don't get any XP.
Temp. Solution:Pause for one or two seconds after the animal is dead to harvest it. If you get the "you cannot..." spam, pause one or two moments, and try again.

Issue:Prone warping
Summary:When going prone prior to attacking a creature, you are sometimes "warped" 20-30 meters closer or farther away than when you went prone.
Temp. Solution:Pause for 2-5 seconds after going prone to ensure that you will not warp.

Issue: Bleedshots
Summary:If you kill a creature using a bleedshot (Health shot, action shot, mind shot), you will not be able to harvest it. If you kill the creature using a bleed and an combination of other non-bleed shots, but get incapped, you will get the XP for killing the creature, but will not be able to harvest it.
Temp. Solution:Use bleedshots sparingly if you are harvesting. Make sure you are not incapped when the creature dies, and use at least one other non-bleed shot during the fight.

Issue:Traps
Summary:Some of the higher level traps (Scout and Ranger) do not work as intended. They do not grant XP, and you do not get a spam saying they failed to hit.
Temp. Solution: Do not use them.

Issue:Camping Exploit
Summary:The Improved camp kit can be used by those who have not yet gained the ability to make this camp.
Temp. Solution: Do not use them if you can't make them.

Issue:Examine
Summary:The Examine function is providing information that seems to be of no value, or is not adequately explained. The amounts of hide/meat are inaccurate.
Temp. Solution: Concentrate only on the functioning portions of examine. Ignore those that do not work.

Issue:Camping/Lair-Municipal
Summary:Sometimes you will be not be able to build a camp in an area. You get a spam saying "This is too close to a lair", even though there is no lair nearby. You can also get a spam saying "This is a municipal zone", even though you are outside a city limits or are not near a building.
Temp. Solution:Move a few dozen meters away and try to build the camp again. Repeat until it works.

Problem: Successful catches grant no XP.
Temporary Solution: Keep fishing as you can sell the fish to chefs. Be sure to filet your fish to make them stackible in your inventory.
2.) Issue: Forage
Problem: Foraged items have no use. Items that are foraged seem to have no use in the game what so ever. The HAM +s are so low no one will buy them or bother to use them. Chefs cannot use them. Pets cannot eat them.
Temporary Solution: Don't forage, or destroy what ever you get with exception to Bait & Melons. For some reasons some pets will eat Melons.

Bro - those aren't bugs. They're changes to the game system.
Please keep this thread to actual bugs with things we KNOW are not working the way they are supposed to.

1.) Issue: TakeCover
I know this is alittle out of place as I'm putting it in Scouting, but its big when you're trying to be covert as a scout sneaking up on you're prey...
Problem: the /takecover command roles you to prone preventing you from being able to make a special shot. Essentially it seems to be acting like a /roleprone /takecover command.
Temporary Solution: Create you're own Takecover maccro which reads /prone /pause 10 / takecover. then repeat takecover as neccessary to find cover.
2) Issue: Harvesting / Bleedshot
Problem: I think this problem, as outlined by Delta, is the result of an old Exploit fix preventing XP awards while outside a certain radius of the dying creature.
Temporary Solution: Do everything in your power to decrease you're distance to the creature when it expires. My best luck has been running within a radius of 80m from where you think the creature spawned. This way it will only return to the spawn point if you've been incapped.
I know there are more... I'll follow up.
Wild, take cover comes from Ranged Support in Marksman, not Scouting. It only gives you bonuses to ranged defence, not any camo or hiding bonus. Now there a few creatures that spit thus ranged attack. This problem with /takecover is reported in the marksman forums.
Problem: Healthshot1 or bleedshot, not letting you harvest. I know Delta mentioned this one and so did someone else. My findings are a little different, so I thought I would post them. If you use bleedingshot to kill something "even with other shots" it sometimes won't let you know harvest. My experience seemed to be that if my bleeding damage was more then my other shot damage I could not harvest.
(personally I feel this is wrong, its not exploiting, Iwas using tactics and my own shots, that the game gave me. I should not be punished if this is intenstional. I used healthshot, bodyshot2 and warningshot. They run away and bleed, when they stop bleeding I run up and shoot them some more)
Temp Solution: keep using bleedingshot and keep harvesting when you can. Try not to use bleedingshot to much for one creature.

1) maskscent, problem it gives zero xp
It doesn;t break now, works great maybe too good. But not one single xp gain since patch.

When ever I harvest bone I only receive 1 unit of bone not matter how big the animal is. I always seem to get the animal was thin, as the dialogue. A friend of mine also noticed the same thing. It will take alot of killing to get a good amount of bone, if I am only rewarded 1 unit each time.

Also all the stuff that I had stored in my container and pack where missing when I logged on last night, which was there last week. I'm very upset about this, because there was a lot of resources in them.

1) Harvest After Bleedshot Death
Issue: When you hit a creature with a Bleed-type shot, follow up with other shots and the critter runs outside of the 64 m range and dies, you can not harvest anything. You get the "You do not have permission........" message.
Temp Solution: Follow target if it tries to run away and hope to keep up with it until it dies or hope that it doesn't run away.
i must say that i have not noticed the bleed shot bug. Although i didnt just bleed it and let it die i was happily shooting away with my carbine in an effort to make master marksman. maybe that is the difference but i was soloing dewbacks for the better part of an hour and the 6 or 7 i killed i got the resources for it. But just to think about it maybe its by design that you dont get xp to bleed something to death, i mean to bleed and burst run is just a little cheezy for my tastes.
Just came across something else. Not sure if it's really a bug, or something that has been known. Since they don't post everything they change on the log on screen, I have no idea if this is just how it is.
Camp Repel not working: I was sitting in my Improved camp kit with MS on. Mind you I'm Master Scout, so it works VERY well. I had TWO Sevorrt's come into the camp and attack me. These guys are blue to me and thus way lower level. They should not be coming into my camp, no matter what, let alone with my MS on.
Then about 2 min after second one got killed by me, and maybe 10 min total in my camp, it just up and and dissapeared on me. No XP or message or anything.
