Thread: Ferocity What is it?
I still have not figured out what ferocity means. At first, I assumed it had something to do with whether animals would help each other out, but I was able to figure out that it isn't that. From what I've seen, it is a number between 0 and 6 and darned if I know what it means.
Does it have to do with the lengths that a creature will hunt you down after you attack it? Does it have to do with its willingness to fight? (Afterall, some creatures will make fake charges, while others will just completely run away if you approach them.)
Can someone who conclusively knows what this attribute means tell me about it? I wish those smart guys at Sony would have thought to have explained this thing somewhere.
Josh,
This is quote from a post I made a month ago.
"First, the Scout dev and I had a long conversation this afternoon and I found out what the deal is with "ferocity". In his own words:
"Ferocity is an index that measures whether a creature will aggro right away or not."
He is going to check the equations for me to flesh that out a bit. But when thinking about it, it makes sense. The creatures that aggro most often, do have higher ferocities - check this sometime when a Singing Mountain Clan Rancor Tamer incaps you on Dathomir. The higher the ferocity, the faster they are going to latch on to you. So while we wait for a more detailed answer (he got called away to work on a hot fix), that should slack a bit of the thirst for information about "examine"."
I know it doesn't answer your question completely, but it's an official response.

When I still had the support line, it made a small but significant difference in my tactics if I got into a bad situation.
Excellent, Delta - as always! Thanks very much.
From that description though, it seems like it would only be really a useful statistic when considering aggressive creature. That is a little disappointing, but I guess it can still be useful though. =)
