I have a 91.0 effective pole..not the best, obviously, but damned good. I am in a 5 star spot with no vegetation.

If my bait doesn't get too mushy and fall off, then the fish takes it. If i actually catch the friggin' fish...it takes me 5 minutes to find out that he got away.

I'm thinking that I should be catching a fish 90% of the time (if five stars is best spot)..but I'm finding that it's more like 20-30 percent, and that's being generous. With my 70% pole, which is now destroyed, I was cathing fish left and right, though this was several patches ago.

I hate to say it..giggle..but did they NERF fishing?

Hehe, I went through quite a bit of bait the other night before I caught my first fish. I thought it was bad luck. My pole isn't very high quality, but I was catching fish much easier before the patch (not that it was easy even then).

I haven't tried it since the pacth, but I think it's supposed to be like RL fishing . . . yeah, about 20%-30% for the average person.

I can understand a 20-30% rate of hooking the fish, but once hooked, I can count the number of fish I've lost on two hands (maybe even one hand and this is out of hundreds). When that happens it is usually from breaking the line (once my rod!). Fish don't suddenly fall off the hook.

The real problem seems to be that the bait decays too quickly now. Even without a nibble, my bait goes from Fresh to None in 15-20 seconds. I've had it fall off immediately after "Caught Something!?" as well, which causes you to stop fishing.
