Thread: what traps to throw?

Ok I keep hearing about this lost city balcony trick. No problem I can go find the place on my own but what I DO need to know is which trap type to throw. Right now I'm only at trapping 2 on Scout, am I stuck until I get a different trap type or is there one at my level that works on what's out there? I don't want to waste resources on a bunch of traps only to find out I can't get any of them to stick because the creature is immune to it.

Wire mesh, glow juice or stink bombs.

These traps can be tossed one after another at the same target without regard to the last trap. They stack. You can toss one or 100 at the same target, and they all have the same chance of sticking.

It does get boring. You will be in combat until you either kill all the panthers or run off. Best to store you swoop first. Have all the traps you want made already, you can't make them in combat. Bring stims to regen your action and mind bars.

Or go to dath with any TKM or other FOTM, get stupid drunk and suicidally throw traps at everything and let them pick up the pieces... you might even get lucky and get to toss off a second trap before the critter's dead =)

I'm regrinding trapping now for MR again (Thank Yoda I never dropped Survival) and this works suprisingly well =)

quick update, holy @@@@ I burned out the last 1 1/2 boxes of trapping in maybe 2 hours and that included finding the village the first time, figuring out where the building was that I was supposed to use, and running to Tat in the middle to find bone on the bazzar cause I ran out of traps and bone lol. I don't normally grind like that on that toon but I made an exception for trapping lol.

This is an aside, but if you use traps as part of your normal attack, you will max traps first.

I generally start with a Healthshot2, HS1, stopping shot, peace... No aggro til the bleed starts.

As creature charges I double-tap, then toss a P dart. Now creature is slowed. Some more shots, maybe a bone spur. Then creature is harvested. I got pistol, combat, scout and trap xp for one creature. Do this regularly and you continue to max trapping and scouting.

Yeah I was trying that but this toon is new, and he's been attempting to hunt stuff on places like Lok and Yavin for meat to sell and every trap I was throwing including from a 2 module harvest/trap probot wasn't affecting anything so I had given up for the time being on trapping while trying to harvest for $$$. Anyway, I still have all of the ranger stuff to go and I will be doing the trap and hunt thing from now on. Now that I have P darts I should be in better shape. I need to do some serious killing though besides for $$$ lol I figured out I need like 5000 hide and 2000 bone to finish off survival 4 and then I can head off into Ranger and enjoy myself.

lol sorry no I'm not implying that. I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I've definitely learned how to use Mask Scent to save my @@@. What I meant was I decided to grind out those traps and craft camps to get the last bit of the survival xp part but the "enjoy" part with Ranger was meant to say that no matter what I'm not doing any grinding there. I really only wanted to get trapping 3 so I could get the P darts but it went so quick I just grabbed 4 anyway since I was already at it. I guess I got kind of excited that I was almost at Master Scout lol. For the kind of stuff I'm trying to hunt right now for $$ the mask scent bonus would be really nice.

speaking of traps, I love pulling a pony keg out of my pack (noise maker) and tossing it at the enemy... I never realized a bothan could have that kind of strength.
