Sunday Ifound myself at scout 4/44/3 needing 20,000 camping xp. Had capped on scouting xp so hunting/harvesting seemed a "waste" since couldn't get more scoutingxp. So, sat down in camp and started making camps, and traps. More traps. Filled up my inventory, backpack, 2 more backpacks of traps stashed in my house. After 2 evenings of this (did a little fishing also for a break) -- bing -- got master scout. Trained novice ranger also.

First question from this newb (90 days playing so far), where camps needed at one time? I hardly used mine other to heal myself, but I see so many medic/docs with droids seems unnecssary. What am I missing? I do see a need for camps, I have been on a few group hunts that were fun and fun to camp in.

Also, why can't we cook in camp? think of all the stuff we harvest -- meat, eggs from lairs, milk, fish, shellfish. Maybe scouts/rangers should be able to cook up a big meal in camp and have it serve as a semi-buff.

Anyway, been fun and look forward to mastering ranger now.

Well, this was before my time (before last June) but the way I understand it, when vehicles first came out you could not call them outside of a city unless you were in a camp. I think I may have heard the same for pets but not sure there. Of course the better ones were supposed to repel aggressive creatures too but supposedly that does not happen now. Although I did have a strange encounter related to that last night. I was on Yavin and popped an advanced camp kit (the novice Ranger one) which is "supposed" to repel creatures but that ability was supposedly removed. Out of nowhere a wild kliknik lair spawns literally right next to my camp and 6 of the beasties pop out but instead of aggroing me they run away from my camp and spread out around it. I'm leaning more towards that they were just dumb though because before I left I disbanded the camp and had mask scent off and they just continued to ignore me.

Oh just a tip, if you're crafting camps for xp like that in the future do it in practice mode you'll get more xp. It sounds like you mainly made traps though which will come in useful. Oh I like the cooking idea too that would be kind of cool. Congrats on making Master by the way, I just did that myself Sunday night, had a few K of survival 4 left and spent the time campfishing outside coronet, 7K in just a couple hours.

Told you I wasn't the ONLY one for the Stew Pot idea. *grin*

Bdsjake welcome to the Master Scouts Club. We have a long standing traditionof hazing our new members.

Currently Flyinion is hunting down enough meet to have a roaring cookout, but in order to roast all of that Enraged Rancor he's going to be hauling in, we're going to need to some cooking fuel!

Why don't you head to Endor and chop us down a few trees for some Endorian Wood?Nothing makes a rack of Rancor Ribstaste better than being cooked with Endorianwood. (for the smokey flavor of course).

Just make sure to watch out for thoseEwoks.....last time i was there i accidentally startedcutting downone of their tree huts. You'd think they'd be slow or something with those short little legs they have, but those little buggers can run fast when they're mad!

Congrats again!

I don't think the "cooking" in camp idea is bad per se - altho I am not gonna be the one listening to the screaming, hollering, whining, and general b i t ching of the Chef types should we ask for this. Steps on their toes yanno. There are some don't like any ideas we have on foraging. But then again, I do have thick skin and no moral compunctions about telling people to pound sand, maybe I will suggest this in the Corr Forums or add it to the wish list.

Camps are good in that you can heal in them - free. They have been nerfed but they are still useful.

They are also useful for forward bases on raids, fun to use on group hunts, and are chick magnets.

This is absolutely true. I set up a camp on Naboo, and a bunch of female kaadu ran right into it.
