So I was out on my early morning harvestor run, golly, almost 250m to my harvs from my house. I realized we hadn't had a post on how to make tons of money lately, so I will re-run some ideas for the crop of new Scouts.

1. HARVEST, HARVEST, HARVEST. If you kill it, harvest it. Meat always sells to someone. HIde always sells to tailors. Read the Trade Forums to see what is selling on your server. I had guildies with only Novice Scout - a skill they got only for a weekend - make upwards of 2 million credits selling avian meat recently. In two days.

2. Missions. If Lok Avian is selling well, get missions for it as well as taking random spawn. Sure, that 7k for two missions is piddly when you think about it, but it's a free 7k for killing stuff you were going to harvest anyhow, and it's a guarantee you will get some meat rather than spending 20 minutes looking for random spawn.

3. Be cheap - both time and money. Time is money somedays. You can spend an hour waiting for a buff, or you can go harvest stuff you don't need a buff for. If you really want to waste time, take a contract for Tatooine avian. You will grow old and die of boredom before you get enough to sell. Hence, know what you are hunting for and what drops it. If you can't get a decent amount in a decent period of time, is it worth it to you? Money. Shop around. Make deals. Barter. I will give you a 10k stack of (meat/hide ...generic) if i get a discount/freebie. Some people will be happy to do this, others will tell you to step off. Don't be shy.

4. Harvestors. I have no artisan abilities - none. I have a wind generator and a large mineral harvestor. How do I know where to place them - easy, Out back of the PA, in untaxed land. It's a 2 min walk from my house. What do I mine for? Well, wind is wind - you get one choice. I use some, sell some, and store some for when the rate drops. Minerals - hmmm--- a toughie--- how about whatever is in the highest percentage? Yeah, ok. Someone grinding will buy it for 2 cpu. If it is good, you may be able to sell it for more. Golly, harvs work unattended mainly. Pay maintenance, put in power and leave. Free money.

Back to this morning. I got two missions south - a huf dun and a tortur ( I live on Talus). I go and check the harvestors. I do the missions. 10k mission pay. A goodly amount of XP. 500 units herb meat at 10cpu, 500 units of carni at 3cpu,300 units hides from stuff that was in my way and bothered me. Some cash off some Drall (stupid gophers). 10k units of iron to sell or trade. 3k units of wind. Let's call it 25k. My time, 30 mins, including bs'ing with a guildie. Total cash outlay for this journey - 1000c to fix my swoop, which was dying from a trip to Dant and Dath, 5 stims (call it 1000, guess high). Profit - an easy 23k. Oh yeah, never got more than 1k away from my house.

We may not be l33t and Uber, but with a little effort (little being the operative word) we can make a lot of money in a short amount of time.

I for one welcome our new monkey making overlord, or something like that....

Anyway, nice example of the little ways scouts can get money. In addition it also shows that if you work smarter and not harder, you don't need the expensive loot everyone seems to covet.

Really.

Do you know how next to impossible it is to get some new players (especially the ones lollygagging about in Coronet and Theed asking for handouts) to go out and skin a gnort or two for cash?

I mean, really. Corellian avian is uber, and these guys can't be BOTHERED to go out and shoot at some rasps, make some monkey (200 cpu means a rasp is worth a thousand credits!)and make JB's life a little less irritating?

Man, I'm gonna get smoked by the Artisans but...

Use a personal harvester to check the lay of the land, then place the bigger ones. Cheaper to redeed, will give you an idea of the percentages.

Redeed a personal harvester ? Why spend that kind of credit. If grind quality resources in used in the creation of personal harvesters they will a lot cheaper to make that to redeed

Well i guess this isnt a far too good way for the masters and players that have played this game for a while, its a pretty decent way for a new player to earn some cash i would say..
Once you get mask scent just take a walk around Naboo and milk anything female you see (not including NPC's ), on my server milk sells to chefs for around 40-50 cpu no matter what the quality is, and if you find a nice area with lots of wildspawns you shouldnt have a hard time getting a fair good bunch of it. without even killing anything!!!
Might be a good way for new players without much fighting skill to get money enough to get a foothold in the economy..
