Thread: Is Mask Scent bugged?

I'm a retiring bounty hunter entering the creature handling and bio engineer profs so I've been using mask scent alot more recently. After Pub 14 (and after I was finally able to log into the game) I began to notice that:

1. Mask Scent doesn't seem to last as long

2. I get discovered way more than I used to.

3. After being discovered I can imediatly reapply Mask Scent where as you used to have to wait a while

None of the above were happening before Pub 14. I have Exploration 4 plus24 bonus points in mask scent and camouflage due to BE clothing and I was discovered 16 times yesterday byfriggin kreetles, which hasn't happened since I got Exploration 4 many months ago. This isn't a good sign of things to come when you're a creature handler and bio engineer as Mask Scent is so necessary. Has anybody else had a similar experience with Mask Scent since Pub 14? I guess I could have just had a really bad day luck wise, but that wouldn't explain number 3 up there.

Maskscent had as long as I can remember problems with very low cl creatures breaking it easily, for example kreetles. Nothing new here.

What about being able to reapply mask scent right after being discovered? I've never been able to do that until Pub 14.

Were you wearing the bio mod clothes then?

The higher your proficiency, the less time it takes to reapply.

In biomod I can reapply in seconds. In armor, I wait.

JB

and everyone knows kreetles break maskscent 9999.999 times out of 10000 at 63.999 meters. rasps too. and freaking purboles.

That would make sense, since my new Bria toon was running around Dath last night in a group getting meat and and had to wait still whenever mask scent broke. I finally stopped chugging jawa beer cause it wasn't helping out there lol. Oh and Hakari, no I haven't gotten that rancor meat for Crigoo hitting Master yet lol, this was on another account and I was in a group

It seems that the higher the level of the creature that breaks the maskscent the longer it takes to reapply.

I think that there is a problem with mask scent, I use to be able to walk among high level creatures and have my mask scent broken every 2 to 3 minutes. Now I can't do it any more, my mask scent will break on any lair. Some thing is different.

'seconds' as in 5 seconds btw when you are master scout and wear clothing with >=+25 maskscent mod in total.

And because of the nice "four piece" compsuits covering everything I still have that mod when wearing armor (pants and shirt with camo/maskscent mod, only wearing boots, chest, gloves and helmet from the comp suit), and when done right (kinetic as special protection with "low" base around 60% and enc sliced is what I usually use) those suits easily can compete with ubese encwise while providing better protection.
